BANGKOK (NNT) - Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has visited the Traffic and Accident Management Center, part of the Ministry of Transport.

In line with the New Year festival, five motorways operated by the Department of Highways will be free of charge, including Highway No. 81 linking Bang Yai and Kanchanaburi, Highway No. 6 connecting Bang Pa-in Nakhon Ratchasima, the eastern and southern Outer Ring routes of Highways No. 9, and Highway No. 7 linking Bangkok, Chonburi, Pattaya and Map Ta Phut.

The Prime Minister praised officials of the Department of Highways for facilitating free road use to alleviate traffic congestion and thanked the officials working during the holidays.

He also reminded citizens to travel safely and to rest adequately, emphasizing the "don’t drink and drive" message.

Addressing concerns about increased travel on January 1st, the final holiday day, the Prime Minister reiterated the importance of not drinking and driving to prevent accidents.
