With both of them working, it would be worth it just to use a laundry service on the pieces of clothing that required ironing.  They could "rough it" with all other articles of clothing like underwear, T-shirts, socks, plus bedding.

I have no clothes that need ironing if i did then i could do it anyway.For a wife not the end of the world not to iron clothes.Cooking is probadly more important

My Thai wife irons my clothes but one would never know it by looking at them. I've gotten to be quite the good ironer over the years 

My second wife used to refer to this sort of stuff as "unpaid labour in the home".  (Needless to say, a classic Western feminist.)

 

My third wife does an excellent job on my t-shirts.

It always starts with the ironing or some other inane thing ...

Next thing you know she won't make you a sandwich or bring you a beer

One of the first things you are taught in the British Forces, I even do my own Shreddies.

Saved me getting a wife 

After 27 years in military I do my own ironing. I actually find it relaxing 

Just sounds like the MIL spoiling for a fight. A good advert if it were ever needed not to live with or near  In-Laws.

Not having all the facts makes it hard to comment, but, is the wife the bread winner working away and is the mother in law looking after her grand  children,

Thai ladies in general are not the best house keepers but you never see a child going to schooll looking less than impecable. IMHO

I had that same problem once with my girlfriend so I bought her an iron for her birthday 

I very confused what is an Iron anyway? Must be that thing my Mrs. drags out once a year before I go to Immigration.
