How Long To Drive From Bangna To Silom During Rush Hour ?

Hi, we will be relocating to Bangkok soon. Most likely to send our kids to Bangkok Patana but my office is in Silom. Would appreciate if anyone can help me with these questions :

1. How long is the drive from Bangna (near Bangkok Patana) to Silom during rush hour ? Any other modes of transport besides car ?

2. Any good condominiums around Bangkok Patana ?

3. Any recommendations where to stay besides Bangna but not too far to the school ? My kids are still young, I don't want them to spend a considerable part of their day in the school bus.

Thanks in advance.

The distance is not far, and with normal traffic the drive is less then 30 minutes. But. the expressway from Silom (Rama IV) to Bangna is probably one of the worst rush hour congestions in Bangkok. You could easily spend an hour or more each way.

You should think about living closer to the Silom area and have the kids take the school furnished buses on the reverse rush hour time.

Hi

I drive it everyday and I can tell you the longest was 1 hour 55 minutes, that was a rainy friday morning. normaly around the 50 minute mark. coming home, I wait until after 8pm at least.

Thanks to all for the advice. So it looks like one hour in the car during rush hour is a fair estimate. I don't fancy going home after 8 pm everyday as I will not see much of the kids. If there is not much traffic on the reverse direction during rush hour, I am thinking of settling somewhere in between like Thong Lor. Does anyone know how long it takes to drive to Silom from Thor Lor during morning rush hour and back after work ? And how long it takes for my kids to get their school in Bang Na by school bus ?

2 hours? Another commute from hel_l. Though you could take the BTS.

That school (if we are thinking of the same establishment) has a campus at Soi 49. It's near Thong Lor.

Living in BangNa and driving from there to the city - forget it.
