Thai actress Pimprapa “Pim” Tangprabhaporn condemned Russian police and an airline carrier for their inaction after belongings worth over 200,000 baht were stolen from her luggage at Moscow Airport.

Pim took to social media yesterday, January 7, to share a video of herself checking her luggage to find her lost valuables in the middle of the airport. She revealed to followers that belongings over US$7,200 (over 200,000 baht), had been stolen from her luggage.

“Never travel to Russia again. Be careful when travelling to this country. It is very dangerous to load your luggage. The only way you can do to avoid theft is to carry valuables with you and be alert. Thieves are everywhere.”

Pim clarified that she had flown with her sister and father from Emperor Nicholas II Murmansk Airport to an airport in Moscow City on the Russian airline Aeroflot. While her sister and father successfully retrieved their luggage upon arrival, she couldn’t locate hers.

Pim mentioned that she waited for a considerable period before eventually discovering them at the airline’s lost and found office. The baggage tag was missing, and the lock had been left open. After spending some time establishing ownership of the bag, Pim inspected the contents and discovered that her Chanel bag and designer glasses were missing.

Apart from the price of the lost items, the Chanel bag had sentimental value to her as it was a birthday present from her boyfriend. Pim added that she found out that many other things were stolen after she checked them carefully when she arrived in Thailand.

Police, airline refuse help

Pim accused the Russian police and Aeroflot staff of refusing to help her. Pim said that when she asked the staff for help they made faces and rolled their eyes, telling her to file a police report.

Pim went to the police station to report the theft but officers just shouted and cursed at her and her family. Pim said she used a translation application to listen to what the officers were saying and found only vulgarities. She was only able to access some of the CCTV cameras, which did not help her find the thief.

This is something that can happen anywhere.

As far as I know if you want valuables in your luggage insured, you must declare then to the airline and pay a fee. At least with Emirates you do.

So did she declare these valuables and have a ticket for them? If not how does the airline even know if she is telling the truth?

And yes , if you can carry it on your hand bag or carry on in the plane always do so, also carry on a change of clothes and allowable toiletries in case they lose your  luggage, or it is delayed.  I t has happened to me several times where my luggage arrived a day or two later,

And always  lock your luggage with a TSA approved lock.

I don't think TSA locks keep thieving hands out. Better to travel with cheapo luggage because the thieves look for the expensive suitcases to Ron.

They keep the casual thief out. If you don't have a lock it is a simple thing to open a zipper, and if anyone one saw it he can claim that it came open on it's own, but if he actively cut the lock (They are hard to cut, I once lost the key and had a hell of a time cutting it" ) then he is acting in a burglary and might have to think about it twice ,or go to the next soft target with no lock.

Anything That reduces your exposure at a reasonable cost , is worth doing.

A bit of BS IMO

But if she is willing to meet with e for a drink and ... whatever, I promise to listen politely and be very, very  sympathetic.

Sounds like Thailand. Is she not confused?

She looks like a painted corpse that has been propped up for a photo.  And why would you have 200,000 baht in your luggage.  She deserves it.

Ah, a bag again. Hope a man was not involved in its disappearance.

That, nowadays, applies to any corner of the globe, incl. Thailand.

Wonder, whether it was even real. Someone once gave me a fake Harrods bag here in Thailand. Took it to China as a shopping bag. Used it there once, or twice, cause it was stolen shortly after, right there in the middle of Walmart. (We were two, standing only a foot or two away, browsing the shelves... Gone in a minute!)

I didn't know back then how rampant theft is in China.

Even better advice would have been never travel to Russia under any circumstances, it is not some place you need to go, you do not want to subject yourself to their nonsense and their extreme official behavior. Avoid Russia like the plague, it is hell on earth, do not go, do not consider it, eliminate it from your list of possibilities.

Avoid the land of King Vlad and his filthy military, FSB, hitmen, and police.

Being a Thai "actress" doesn't equate to being intelligent.

Is there any insurance companies involved.

What idiotic lunacy.
"The only way you can do to avoid theft is to carry valuables with you and be alert. Thieves are everywhere.”  Duhhhh No Sh** Sherlock! Especially in Thailand! Oops... I mean Russia? That is the norm no matter where on this planet you go!
And she relies on a translation app to be so certain that she only got vulgarities from the Russian police? lol  Well, it might be accurate, but it might also have been well deserved! From the tenor of the article, I'd go with the latter. The eye-rolling from Aeroflot staff was likely just as well-deserved. I can almost hear the shrill entitled complaining now....
I think the police and the Aeroflot staff were thinking something along the lines of, Who on earth is stupid enough to use unlocked designer luggage (assumption) and carry expensive easily pocketable, expensive, designer goods and not keep their attention on their luggage in a Russian airport!!?? Hilarious how this makes news that is apparently intended to make her look like such a poor victim, but reveals more of the level of sheer stupidity.

Did she try "Do you know who I am?" :whistling:

She looks to me like any other Thai woman in front of a camera desperate for attention "look at me!"  "look at me!"!

Why was she, her sister and father in Russia?  Were they on vacation or had an enormous monetary offer to do some acting?
