Again you miss my point. If a person is a lying scoundral then by all means call him a lying scoundrel and not a douchebag as you say. There is a difference in me calling you a boring pedantic individual, or calling you a mangy cur with a rat that refuses to let it go. The latter I would not dream of doing as I show you respect. Now please let it go. I wish you a good day.

So you want to discuss but then you do not want to discuss.  Typical of folks when their beliefs are challenged, shown to be flawed, and yet the individual doesn't want to give up his precious belief.  Despite the fact that it is highly flawed, impractical, and even harmful.  He'll keep it anyway.

Good day to you as well.

Makes sense...in some ways.

Fortunately, you'll probably be dying somewhere in rural Japan, where God should not over represented.

It's twisted to start a topic on God while at the same time complaining about it.

So many divergent opinions on this Topic, it seems.

Listen, GammaGlobulin, I like you as a poster.  I've always enjoyed your posts.  In fact I've let you know outright on several occasions via direct compliments.  So I really don't want to exchange barbs with you.  That would simply be a pissing contest and for what?  Because we happen to disagree on a particular subject matter?  And should we then dislike each other over a single issue when we derive enjoyment on more than not?  As I said, I'm not so foolish that I would throw the baby out with the bathwater.  No two people will ever be in agreement on every issue amongst the vast number of issues we deal with in life so the fact that differences will arise is only the natural course of human affairs.

We both have different views on this subject matter.  So what?  You've your own personal decision to make as to where we go from here.  I've made mine a long time ago.  Before this thread existed.  I'll continue to enjoy your posts and maintain the respect which you deserve.  Better to have a friend in the world than an enemy.

What say you?

@GammaGlobulin

Well, fusion58 decided to resurrect this dead thread as he's replied to me, and being a polite fellow I tend not to ignore posters, and so will give him his answer.  This then gives me the opportunity to respond to your non response of my quoted post, GammaGlobulin.

So to recap that post:  I offered you an olive branch, complimented you with sincerity, wisely pointed out that differences between people's ideas always exist and also wisely suggested to not make such Everest-sized mountains of that molehill, wisely suggested that there always exist enough enjoyable commonalities to focus on that more than offset any differences, and wisely suggested it is better to have a friend than an enemy.

Now you can ignore this post as well, and in truth I'm not even looking for a reply to it.  Rather, my purpose here is simply to comment on your non reply.  To say that I'm a bit shocked, given the impression of you which I had built up via your many interesting and highly creative posts, in that I didn't think it was in your character to ignore such a gracious offering, whether from me or anyone else whom you might have disagreement with on, really, trivial matters.

Correction:  It was the Why does God >insert your grievance here<....? thread which fusion58 revived, not this one.  My mistake.  But no matter.

As I age, I realize that it is easier for me to forget what has gone before during the past several years.

Age takes it's toll.  And it gets heavier with the years.

Wow, great story. Unfortunately when I use to bump into Peter on the bus, his hands weren't capable of playing guitar, so it was great news when he got back into playing.

In terms of other Rock / Guitar gods, made the stupid mistake of turning down a ticket for Jeff Beck @ Ronnie Scott's, as that would have been up close and personal.

Also missed Gary Moore, could have met him at Reading in '82, but was still working out in AUS, however did get to meet Tommy Emmanuel.

Did get to meet Snowy White at Reading in '84, in fact as he came off stage, his normal guitar roadie wasn't about so he passed me his gold SG to take back to his backstage tent. Got to help clean it and restring it, bloody hell it was heavy, hence the sustain he gets, especially when he worked with David Gilmore in Floyd.

Favorite '70s Guitar God is Steve Hackett, really nice bloke, met him when he snuck into a Kate Bush/ Peter Gabriel/Steve Harley benefit gig at Hammy Odean, was sitting a few seats away from me.

Not so much a Guitar God, but totally influential to many was / still is Pete Cornish who was the go-to guy for guitar effects pedal boards, use to have a workshop at the top corner of Denmark Street / Shaftesbury Avenue, " Can't talk, got to get Brian's (May) board ready for the next tour". Also Andy Summers, Robert Fripp, Steve Hackett, Michael Rutherford, Macca, Dave Gilmore etc etc. Great guy.

Take a look at his client list:-

It sounds like you've had some incredible encounters with legendary musicians and guitarists! From meeting Peter and witnessing his return to playing guitar to your missed opportunities with Jeff Beck and Gary Moore, each experience adds to the rich tapestry of your musical journey.

Fortunately, age has not yet taken the troll, I hear you thinking, though....

And so, thank you for your caring...
