Popular Post snoop1130
BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand is advancing the Open ThaiGPT project to develop its own artificial intelligence (AI) technology, aiming to lessen its dependence on foreign tech. Led by Chai Wutiwiwatchai of the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), the initiative seeks to cater to local needs through a generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) model that understands Thai. Launched in April 2023 with partners including the Artificial Intelligence Entrepreneur Association of Thailand and the NSTDA Supercomputer Center, the project focuses on creating a chat-based AI assistant proficient in Thai. This development is supported by government ministries, enhancing services in tourism, medical fields, and document searches. The Open ThaiGPT system has seen significant growth, expanding to 13 billion parameters with a goal of 70 billion, aiming for flexibility, customization, and external data connectivity. The project underscores the importance of AI in various sectors and is exploring the creation of a GPT store to offer tailored GPT solutions, emphasizing security and transparency. Thailand also plans to host the 62nd annual meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics, showcasing its AI advancements on a global stage and promoting faster project development through expert cooperation. Srikcir
"Thai artificial intelligence" Seems to be working just fine now. Out of 64 countries: "...the 2021 rankings revealed three indicators of weaknesses in Thai education." https://www.nationthailand.com/blogs/education/40011703 First, the secondary school enrolment (sic) rate dropped four places to 61st. Second, the student-teacher ratio in secondary schools dropped three places to 60th. And third, the education budget as a proportion of GDP dropped one place to 59th."
