Five Thai people in Israel were injured, three of them seriously, when they were hit by shrapnel from an anti-tank rocket fired from Lebanon into a kibbutz in the north of the country on Monday night.

The Thai Foreign Ministry said today that one non-Thai was killed the five Thais were injured in the incident. The injured were treated at two hospitals. One was discharged after receiving first aid, but four others remain in hospital.

Earlier, the Embassy quoted local media as reporting that seven Thais were wounded in the attack.

Officials from the Thai Embassy in Israel have visited the injured and has promised to update their relatives in Thailand on their condition.

Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv has also warned Thai nationals still working in high-risk places to move to safer areas and to seek help from the embassy if they want to leave Israel.

When the offer to get back to Thailand they didn't all accept it, I think there was around 30,000 Thai's, I guess the lure of 80,000 baht a month including accommodation kept them there

A rocket fired over the border at civilians can hardly be self defense.

Well said , I presumed it was Hamas , I stand corrected .But  a supporter of Hamas which is hell bent on killing innocent Jews, is just as Naziistic.

Is there such a word Naziistic, should be.

They will do anything for money

What a load of tosh. Thai- Israel government contracts for Thai labour have existed for years.

For a long time, decades, it's been a legal way for working class Thais to earn enough money to build a house, etc back home.

Many stay for years, sending money home every month.

Comments like som nam na betray posters' ignorance and worse.
