Not sure whether a non-subscriber can get in, but for what it's worth: theaustralian.com.au of last Thursday and go to the Business Review section. So here's an extract for you, Dude: "While treatment could still be years away, the in-vitro study showed there are anti-cancer effects of a specific extract from cannabis sativa called PHEC-66. "According to the study, this strain forces melanoma cells into a “programmed cell death”, also known as apoptosis. "The cannabis extract works by attaching itself to the receptor on the melanoma cell surface, and changes the messages to the inside of the cell to manipulate the normal growth ie: force it to go into death progress. “If we know how they react to cancer cells, particularly in the cause of cell death, we can refine treatment techniques to be more specific, responsive and effective,” said study co-author Dr Nazim Nassar. "Dr Nassar said the next challenge was to develop a targeted delivery system to the melanoma cells, enabling pre-clinical trials." IF weed can treat one type of cancer it doesnt necessarily mean that it will treat the other. when cancer metastasizes there is usually nothing much that can be done from that point on depending on how quickly it has been caught. so dude @mfd101, before spreading your sarcasm give a link to the article rather than give a short passage the link i found might be different. your article, if serious, should detail what kind of cancer the treatment weed was used on and what stage the patients, or tissue samples taken from patients, were at. the article i found dated 8 february does not. i have chronic neck pain and smoking weed has never helped with this, contrary to what people claim. i have tried a balm given to me by stoner and it does seem to help. however, cancer is a totally different story. would i like this to be true? hell yeah. but research like this takes years to conduct, and although it may be true, more often than not the results are inconclusive. and @bamnutsak just because the tests are done in vitro doesnt mean they are a guarantee if success. in vitro fertilization comes to mind here... it doesnt always work Quote Lead author and RMIT biotechnologist Professor Nitin Mantri emphasised the necessity for a long-term follow-up to ensure the sustained effectiveness and safety of the PHEC-66 extract in cancer treatment over extended periods. He stressed the importance of testing the safety profile of the extract before its widespread adoption. "The subsequent stage involves animal studies or pre-clinical trials to validate and further explore the efficacy of cannabinoid PHEC-66 in treating melanoma and other cancers,” Professor Mantri said. He highlighted the critical collaboration with Dr Nassar, emphasising the need for support and sponsorship from pharmaceutical companies to qualify PHEC-66 as a registered medicine. This support is essential for advancing the development and application of cannabis extracts in cancer treatment, leveraging Dr Nassar's expertise as a healthcare professional, pharmacologist, and pharmaceutical scientist. so... they are still looking for funding, basically and often enough researchers will do anything to get funding, such as making claims they cannot substantiate. i repeat, i would love nothing more other than for this cure to work, but i am skeptical and any release of said cure is still likely decades away. It was at a covid status news conference. He was telling the experts they should try using bleach in the body. And lots of the MAGA rubes did try it and ended up in the hospital. Why do all the right wing nuts always try to blame the nonsense that comes out of Trump's mouth as jokes? Bday Prang
every time reports surface of alleged negative effects of cannabis the usual suspects intensify their calls for an outright ban. Now that there is some positive news it is either dismissed of deflected from, in this case even mentioning Donald Trump. Are there actually any threads on this website where Trump is not mentioned? Certainly not very many
