Trump's Mass Deportation Plans Spark Controversy and Resistance Across the US
It's sort of like if you have a warrant and they kick in the door to bust the drug dealers you live with and they find you, you are also taking a ride although not the primary target. If the jails cooperated that could be minimized. -

Has Thailand Caught Up with the 21st Century?
I had a problem with nasty cops in the UK ( they were females on more than one occasion, but that may not be relevant ). I never had a problem with Thai cops, and any interaction was friendly. I benefited from that "corruption" myself, and avoided an expensive court case over a minor accident. I love Thailand just the way it is. Cops in the west may not want backhanders, but try getting any action on a burglary; not going to happen unless very lucky. What's worse, corrupt cops or useless cops? -

Trump's Mass Deportation Plans Spark Controversy and Resistance Across the US
Actually, legal and illegal immigrants often live together and are relatives. Who lives with unauthorized immigrants? Unauthorized immigrants live in 6.3 million households that include more than 22 million people. These households represent 4.8% of the 130 million U.S. households. Here are some facts about these households in 2022: In 86% of these households, either the householder or their spouse is an unauthorized immigrant. Almost 70% of these households are considered “mixed status,” meaning that they also contain lawful immigrants or U.S.-born residents. In only about 5% of these households, the unauthorized immigrants are not related to the householder or spouse. In these cases, they are probably employees or roommates. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2024/07/22/what-we-know-about-unauthorized-immigrants-living-in-the-us/
