Thai Muslims immersed in spirituality as they perform the Taraweeh prayer at The Foundation of the Islamic Centre of Thailand, marking a sacred nightly tradition during the holy month of Ramadan.

The term “Taraweeh” refers to the short rest periods that occur every four rak’ahs (units of Islamic prayer) during the prayer session.

Traditionally, Muslims aim to complete the recitation of the entire Quran over the course of Ramadan during these prayers, with the Imam (prayer leader) reciting a portion of the Quran each night.
