IMO parading around in a shirt saying "just stop oil" marks one as an idiot, and if any doctors think that is a sensible thing they are suspect of being too stupid to practice.   Imagine if

Synthetic hats, T-shirts, spectacles, backpacks, shoes all worn by these twits, are made from oil.....

To think, they think they have the intelligence to be doctors...........🙄

The hypocrisy of people who are demonstrating for various causes(cults)often beggars belief, they have their rose coloured spectacles on and have 'ticked the box' which seems,in their eyes ,to justify every irresponsible act, reckless prank and malicious vandalism that they get up to,if these people can't see that their actions have consequences they deserve everything that happens to them and if that includes losing their jobs so be it.

The knock offs are, but the official MAGA hats are made in California. HTH.

Some third-party retailers carry knock-off MAGA caps that are made in China and are labeled as such. Trump’s official campaign store website states that “All of our products are 100% proudly made in the USA.”

You're absolutely right.  I almost feel sad for Chomper, now that he is indeed showing Bideresque signs of losing his touch.

Strike them off. We don't need doctors with convictions and IQ's that match their age practicing medicine in the UK. Especially in the socialist republic of Bristol.

Pity they cant give you an appointment for 3  weeks too busy protesting I  guess, friend in  the UK recently hurt his leg  falling off his push bike, it got swollen after a few  days, tried to book an appointment......3  weeks  later  finally saw a doctor who  sent him to A&E, 25 hours on a hard  chair then transferred to a reclining chair  with drip in  until got a bed then 6 days in hospital where they almost amputated  his  leg.

That's the fault of the system / government, not the doctors. Everybody has the right of peaceful protest regardless of their profession although I don't regard the 'just stop oil' movement as peaceful but regardless of that their private lives shouldn't affect their professional lives, why for instance should a politician resign because he commits adultery, why should a film star be cancelled because he isn't PC, this is MacCarthyism.

Absolutely wrong. These junks are protesting using their professional uniform and title just to impress people. How does that matches with actors???😵‍💫

It doesn't matter what they are wearing or if they are lord and lady Muck, they have a right to protest, the only exception would be wearing a police or army uniform because they represent state power. I find it degrading that these days public figures have to suppress personal opinions and if not, offer up grovelling apologies, because their opinions weren't pc or woke enough. Comedians like Ricky Gervais or Bill Burr are courageous enough not to give a $hit about such nonsense.

Does Bill Burr go to climate protests?

No, neither does Ricky Gervais but they are both controversial public figures.

Comedians, nobody talks health advice from.

I thought medical school and exams were the means to determine if someone has the smarts to be a doctor..

That was certainly the case years ago and it was fail one element and you had to retake all exams.

Now they'll let anyone have a go.

GMC is clear that activism is fine, it's the criminal convictions it is wary of.

My point being, is a comedian any less a comedian if he isn't woke? Is a cabinet minister any less of a politician because he commits adultery? Is a doctor any less of a doctor if he chooses to demonstrate? We don't have enough doctors as it is. Private lives are just that, Private and opinions of the individual should be respected and not be subject to judgement and scrutiny by any state organization. Why not hold a bus driver, train driver, pilot irresponsible for demonstrating, they also have peoples lives in their hands.

Nothing to do with freedom of speech.

If they have criminal convictions they should be struck off. The fact they have criminal convictions relating to a doomsday cult that you also subscribe to is irrelevant. Criminals should not practice medicine.

Why not?

As soalbundy has pointed out continuously throughout this thread. These doctors' personal opinions re the climate have nothing to do with their professional lives and expertise.

Not for the first time, you make false assumptions about me. For the record, I don't have much time for 'Just Stop Oil'.  However, having said that, if scientists with a deeper understanding of this subject matter than me or you suggest that climate change is a major problem, I'm inclined to listen and learn. Unlike you, I don't simply dismiss it because it doesn't fit a very narrow political narrative.

I strongly disagree.

Doctors are at the top of social ranking and credibility. (similar to police Or fire fighters and some others)

These docs use their uniform to emphasize their matters. Protesters should exercise their right in plain clothes.

And actors or comedians?

They are nobodys. Maybe opportunists.

I agree with you that doctors should be dressed neutrally. Actors and comedians, rightly or wrongly, have a greater influence than doctors or politicians, mention Taylor Swift and even Trump has to react with such statements that he is more popular than her while Bill Burr has said nobody should listen to him he (Burr) was never any good at anything in college but when he comes out on stage there is pandemonium like the second coming just happened.

I agree completely, but they should NOT be proclaiming that they are medical people while doing so. They can be medical people, or they can protest. they should not be both at the same time.

If I was her patient, and I made some comment about loving my petrol using car, could I trust her to treat me properly?

They can have their opinions. That's no problem. They can believe the earth is flat and Greta is the reincarnated daughter of the virgin Mary for all I care.

It is their criminal convictions that we are discussing here. Stop trying to conflate the 2 very separate issues.

Convicted criminals should not be practicing medicine. Especially those with suspended jail sentences.

I agree that the issues should not be conflated but that is exactly what you are doing ("Convicted criminals should not be practicing medicine"). I disagree.

If these two doctors have broken the law, then they should be punished. However, their crimes have nothing to do with their medical abilities and there is no evidence to suggest that they would use their medical knowledge to harm the public. Therefore, once they have served their punishment, they should be allowed to resume their medical careers.
