Chonburi Merchant Loses One-Million-Baht in Life Savings in House Fire

Chonburi — A female merchant in Chonburi lost her life savings worth over one million baht after it was incinerated along with her rented house in a fire that occurred early Monday morning, April 8th, 2024.


The incident took place at a townhouse complex in Laem Chabang, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Firefighters were informed of the fire about 03:34 AM and rushed to the scene to find a two-story townhouse engulfed in flames.

 

The intense fire quickly spread to two adjacent houses. Firefighters used high-pressure water to extinguish the blaze. It took them over two hours to bring the fire under control.

You can still insure your belongings, even in a rented accommodation.

Thai and insurance are contradictions.

Incidentally it is common knowledge that Thai people hold gold as insurance but in case of fire, not much of that remains either.

'The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.'  As is the source of the one million baht she didn't put in the bank?

I bet the house owner was really peed, imagine how that would sound in a reference for a new Tenancy if they had those in Thailand like so many other countries.
