Jaymatheson Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Hi, I'll be transferring bt800,000 from overseas into my BKK Bank Savings account. After i apply for my conversion from a Tourist Visa to a Non-Imm O Retirement (showing bt800k in Savings account) at Thai Immigration I'd like to open a Fixed Deposit account and transfer the bt800k into it to season the funds for the 1 year Extension and for the foreseeable future. Is this doable? a) After transferring from Savings into Fixed it won't show as international transfer .... issue? b) Can i use a different bank account to apply for 1 year Extension than what i used for switching to Non-Immigrant?
DrJack54 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Transfer the 800k prior to applying for the non O into savings account. After you obtain the non O, transfer funds from the savings account into the FD account. 60 days+ later apply for 12 month extension.. 1 1

So for 12 month extension the FD account doesn't have to show the funds coming from overseas?

No. In any event you can obtain credit advice that the funds into savings came from abroad. Same bank for the 2 accounts I assume 1
retarius Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Is this 800K taxable? Shouldn't all expats on Non-O's retirement be eligible for an 800k transfer each year? 1
