Will DOGE Be Effective In Cutting Wasteful Spending?
The first question should be: What is Elon Musk's intention? Somehow I would be surprised if he is interested in improving the lives of all US citizens. -

Will DOGE Be Effective In Cutting Wasteful Spending?
If you want to see anarchy and an outright rebellion, freeze Social Security, tax refunds, etc. Business and employers can stop paying the various sales taxes and employees withholding. Then all hell will break loose. Then what? Don't worry. Never happen. -

Will DOGE Be Effective In Cutting Wasteful Spending?
Not to beat a dead horse, but just look at immigration for an example. There are so many programs under so many agencies that we don't have a clue how much illegal immigrants cost taxpayers. They're costing FEMA money, education money, health care money, defense money, and on and on. Until we get an accounting, we'll never know ('cept NYC Mayor Adams who let the cat out of the bag, at $36K per head per annum.) Time to turn AI technology loose on the task and at least identify the cost. What they decide to do about it is a separate issue. -

Thailand's Air Pollution Crisis Hits ASEAN's Collaborative Agenda
I have been a regular visitor to Chiang Mai, spending up to six months, the UK's winter months, here every year for 12 years. I love CM. But this year I am going home at the end of February instead of early April to avoid the seriously damaging aq in March and April. Even being here in February is looking unwise. No Travel Agent in the world is going to risk its reputation by sending customers to SE Asia during the smog season. If you take out the rainy season and the floods in October, that leaves November, December and January as the only sensible months to visit Thailand. And the way things are going with the smoke, you can soon take out January too. Leaving two months smog, flood and rain risk free.
