Thai Woman Detained Following Acid and Knife Assault on Unfaithful Husband

A Thai woman finds herself in the hands of the Special Service Division (SSD) after allegedly launching an appalling acid and knife attack on her adulterous husband.

 

Somjit Subsiri, a 45-year-old native of Kanchanaburi province, was apprehended for this shocking incident which occurred in a Bangkok home on the 13th of August.

 

The reported fiery domestic quarrel, sparked by the unveiling of her husband's covert affair with another woman, escalated to disturbing violence. Subsiri is accused of flinging a corrosive liquid over her husband, causing immense pain and bodily harm that pushed the man to urgently wash it off.

 

But Subsiri's alleged onslaught didn't stop there. She is further accused of incriminatingly wielding a knife and blindly stabbing her husband in the cheek before making a hasty escape.

 

The man, who suffered grave and life-threatening injuries in this gruesome attack, was rushed to the hospital in the nick of time; according to medical professionals, a delay would've been lethal.

 

Following the incident, an arrest warrant was swiftly issued on February 16, with the case handed over to the SSD. Their meticulous investigation revealed that Subsiri had relocated to the Kanchanaburi province for work.

 

Eventually, the officers tracked down Subsiri in the Bor Ploy district, leading to her arrest at a neighborhood convenience store.

 

Subsiri now faces charges of attempted murder, punishable by half the sentence under Section 288 of the Criminal Law regarding intentional murder - translating to life imprisonment or a prison term ranging from 15 to 20 years.

 

Despite the serious accusations levied against her, Subsiri staunchly denies all charges. As a result, further interrogations will be conducted at Tha Kham Police Station in Bangkok.
