Money is money is money. USA loves the stuff - like in Thailand there is no bad money just money. This is Schlumberger btw the most connected politcally along with Halliburton oil services company in the world. Funny how we sanction companies we don’t like but are ok with politically connected corporations to do business where otherwise they would’ve been frozen from the western financial system. Dying for US oil a common refrain down the decades.

In May, a US Department of State official said SLB had “thus far” not breached sanctions and the company had a clear understanding of “where the guardrails” were.

A Treasury spokesperson told the FT: “The United States and an international coalition opposing Russia remain committed to reducing [Vladimir] Putin’s profits. At the same time, simply aiming to stop the flow of Russian oil would have serious consequences for the global economy.”

That's hilarious. With one hand they send arms to destroy Russia, with the other they send investment to do business in Russia.

The hypocrisy of the US is unrivalled int he world. Unbelievable.

Yes that's the deal, total war this is not - except for Russia and Ukraine and the west wants an out.

I can tell you even more funny things. Your central bank invest record high amounts into the US economy(not the Russian one) At the same time that Putin tell you that the west is the enemy wanting to destroy Russia. Even more funny, the money invested into the US economy is being confiscated and sent to Ukraine.

2 years ago Russia was near Kiev. Then it was near Kherson and now the frontline is near Kursk.
You should know that it does not look like moving forward.
And you also might know that the silver medal in any war is not honorable.
NATO is about 6x bigger than Russia (population, economics, number of soldiers etc.) - this is the fact that you prefer to forget every time.

It's Kyiv the Orcs spell the RuZZian version.

For googling in Russian -депутат госдумы федоров обвинил центральный банк в финансировании вооруженных сил украины(“ State Duma deputy Fedorov accused the central bank of financing the Ukrainian armed forces”). I thought that the western guys have heard about the recent decisions on confiscating Russian investments in favor of Ukraine. But if you have not, I will find you a link in English soon.

Israel is unlikely to agree to a ceasefire until and unless Hamas is unable to launch another attack.

Israel has already agreed to the most recent brokered ceasefire, it's Palestine that is holding out. You really should know that.

MOSCOW, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Russia accused Ukraine on Friday of trying to attack the Kursk nuclear power station overnight in what it called an act of "nuclear terrorism", days before the head of the U.N. atomic watchdog is due to visit the site.

Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine on Thursday of trying to attack the facility, and said Moscow had informed the IAEA.

The head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, is due to visit the power station next week. He has appealed for maximum restraint to avoid a nuclear accident.

16. English is the only permitted language anywhere on ASEAN NOW, except within the Thai language forum, where using Thai is allowed. Short Thai translations of technical terms are permitted in specialty forums. While we make allowances for members who do not speak English as their first language, we expect everyone to make an effort to post in a manner that allows others to understand their posts. As an international forum we have members from many countries in the world, and English is not the first language of every poster.

Mapping Ukraine’s Surprise Invasion of Russia

Ukraine’s incursion into Kursk brought about one of the largest territorial changes since the first month of the war, when Russia rapidly advanced toward major Ukrainian cities. The head of Ukraine’s armed forces, Gen. Oleksandr Syrsky, has claimed that Ukraine is in control of about 490 square miles of Russian territory.
If confirmed, that would represent roughly the same amount of land that Russian forces seized in Ukraine from January through July of this year, according to the Institute for the Study of War, a Washington-based think tank.

There's additional action to the west of the region above. Ukraine has already knocked out bridges over the western Seym river, effectively isolating the Glushkova region.

Yes, and Germany too has severe problems to sustain the 8 billion freebies it hands out to Ukraine and has announced it will scale that back to 50 percent less and then one tenth of it. In the US many are questioning the enormous sums poured into Ukraine.

It can't continue indefinitely. Resources are limited in the West.

Compare the GDP of Russia compared to the GDP of Western Europe and tell me who is struggling.
