You have no choice of sex of I.O. at BKK.The “snake “ queuing  system has sorted that. 
I arrived at BKK the other week at Midday. There were many other flights arriving and the queues were a bit long but I saw Immigration officers open up other kiosks and got through in 15mins.

I wanted to post the list of requirements for the non-O retirement visa application. That is the document that I received at Chaeng Wattana Immigration Office. I have all the documents but I am still nervous. You just never know if they will accept everything. I will be going on the 24th, fingers crossed.

Your document is not legible and seems to have no relevance to this thread.

Your posts, and allegedly a post by anther member, are about applying for a non-O visa for the purpose of retirement at the local immigration office and are therefore off topic here.

A video was recently posted by someone denied-entry entering by air.  Six-weeks into  his 60 day VE entry, he flew out to the UK to see family - stayed for 15 days - then flew back.   He was told by the I/O this was a "border run" to spite using less than 1/2 of his last entry's potential stay (60+30), being gone 15 days, and having a paid flight-out (a real ticket).  Obviously, a "border runner" would have stayed the full-duration, then made a safe bounce to Cambodia - not flown all the way to the UK.

 

A contact in Thailand he reached while in airport-detention could not reverse the denied-entry, but set up "safe entry" on his return (cost unspecified).  Upon his immediate return, he was met by an IO off the plane, taken to an empty immigration booth, and stamped in. 

 

He does not state how much time he spent in Thailand last year, but mentioned a condo contract, which gives an indication.  Anyone spending significant time here would be wise to use agent-help to enter Thailand - especially entering by air - and even more-so if flying from far away.  What a Nightmare!!

It can get tough for a condo-owning tourist in Thailand.

 

This gentleman has my sympathy. I wish I didn't have to learn about his experience from a Youtube video clip but that he would have posted here himself so that we might ask him for additional details. 

 

Just the same, his report will undoubtedly be of interest to people in the same or a similar situation.

Anyone has a clue up to how many days/weeks/months a "border run" is, i.e. IOs not considering one to overstaying their welcome when returning? Say, if I stayed in Thailand for 8 months, then left for 2, would they roll out the red carpet again?

this guy just got a bad IO on his bad day , only that , how can 15 days out of Thailand can consider a border run

As a very rough rule of thumb, if you have spent over 50% of the last 12 months or the last 24 months in Thailand on Visa Exempt and Tourist Visas, you run the risk of being denied entry.

 

In this case, I strongly believe the 15 days is completely irrelevant. You would need to look at the denied person's travel history over the last 12 - 24 months.

 

I was denied entry in 2019 having spent a month in the UK. The reason was I was spending around 75% of my time in Thailand on METV's. (Of course, they do not overtly state that, you have to figure it out.)

There's no official rule, so it will be whatever that individual IO or supervisor says.

 

If you stayed in Thailand for 8 months as a tourist, an airport IO might well consider 2 months out insufficient to be allowed in again.

Rather worrying. I worked for 6 years in China, only coming to Thailand once or twice a year for a month maximum; actually I couldn't leave China for 3 years during COVID.

 

After that, I flew into Thailand near the end of Mar 2024, spending 7 months there, and flew back to my home country (UK) around the end of Oct 2024.

 

I'm due to fly to Thailand at the end of next month (Apr 2025) and stay until I go back to work in China in Aug 2025. I'm more worried because after my first 60+30, I'll likely fly to Phnom Penh for a week and fly back in to get another 60. 🤔

Is the trip to PP just to obtain the 60 day stamp? 

If so why not consider border bounce (land border)

The April flight in from the UK should be fine.

 

The July Cambodian border bounce should not be done by air. Use an agent van service for a land crossing. If you do use air, probably best to use safe entry service that @thai006 linked above.

 

Using one or the other of these methods will increase your chance of hassle-free entry in July from 85 - 90% to 100%.

A "bad day" could mean "needs to fill his quota of denied-entries."  Maybe he just got chewed-out by the boss, and his tea-money threatened, by not denying entry to "enough" people - reminded that denying-entry is what generates the tea-money.

 

Wise move to go with safe-entry, if you have significant time (subjective) spent in Thailand in the last year or so.

Agree - but would clarify to, "insufficient to be allowed-in again without paying tribute."  That's all they really want.

 

If no one was "staying too long," they would be heartbroken.  They would be pushing to cut visa-exempt entry to 7 days, if that's what it took to get the tea-money flowing, again.  The silly excuse to go back to 30-days for everyone, vs only the countries of the bad-actors, could be due to this.

Yes, just for the 60 day stamp. I'll be staying in Bangkok with my (soon to be) wife. I'm getting a bit too old to do the minivan runs except maybe the now defunct run to Pu Nam Ron, Myanmar if that ever comes back. Plus I have friends in PP so it's nice to make a proper holiday of it.
