Registering A Birth

Featured Replies

We had our baby at Pattaya International Hospital in Pattaya and all was fine until they tried to vastly overcharge us on leaving. We have paid somewhere near where we think the bill should be but they have yet to provide a detailed bill and are now making up charges to fit the original number (on a 2 inch piece of paper !).

They threaten legal action but I don't worry about that as I have a very abusive email from someone purporting to be their managing director which I would make public.

My worry is the birth certificate if the hospital don't want to play ball and give us what we need.

What are our options ?

Thanks

just fill in the forms outself down the ampur for the BC?

BTW. Congrats!

So what paperwork would I need to do that ? Surely you cannot just turn up somewhere and register a kid, even if you have the kid with you can you ?

I presume that it must be possible as you could just have the kid in a hut in the village but if they need something from the hospital and they don't want to play ball then .... ????

Thanks for the help.

As far as I know, the hospital fills out the registration for the Amphur covering it's own district. We still have to go to our own local Ampur within 14 days to get registration completed.

I would get your wife to call your local Ampur and ask.
