Recently someone said ,look to Hitler/ mussolini/ franco as to how

awful the far right is and The French people  should consider those regimes as a indicator before they reject the left.

Hitlers was heinous, no doubt but Theres A stark contrast  between the alternative !

100 Years. 100 Million Lives. Think Twice.

2017 article starts off,

Last month marked 100 years since the Bolshevik Revolution, though college culture would give you precisely the opposite impression. Depictions of communism on campus paint the ideology as revolutionary or idealistic, overlooking its authoritarian violence. Instead of deepening our understanding of the world, the college experience teaches us to reduce one of the most destructive ideologies in human history to a one-dimensional, sanitized narrative.

Hitler/ Nazi’s heinous rise and genocide  of a race  and other nationalities is infantile compared to the far left’s genocides use ,to control people .

History is repeating itself , the left is using hitler/ nazism to demonstrate the right is evil because of its Sense of Nationalism !

New neo cultural marxist have learned that Nazi antisemitism is a useful tool

in their attempt to destroy western  civilization !

Hitler was left

Stalin and I are the only ones who envisage the future and nothing but the future. Accordingly, I shall in a few weeks stretch out my hand to Stalin at the common German-Russian frontier and undertake the redistribution of the world with him. "

Some amazing contortionist opinionism !

It  must be gutting to witness a "leftist" party coalition  pip the rightests in final outcome in France.

Extremism is the danger element and a good reason to outlaw "partY' politics.

The far left is mainly the students you talk about - they were the same when I was at Uni back in the 80's. Young people are idealistic. They believe in the goodness of people and that they can work together for a common cause. As they get older they tend to be normalised and move to the centre. Life does that.

Now though thanks to social media and the gotcha right wing media their voice is magnified - whereas before they could develop their ideas in student newspapers without much reach beyond that - except for major issues like Green issues or say Vietnam in the 60's and 70's - now they are seen by the right as some major threat to their way of life.

But the far right wing is much more normalised throughout the Republican party - different demographics - in a way it was not before. That's what makes the right more dangerous with the dumbest silliest leader of all time being Donald.

It wasn’t the right who went into Israel murdering , terrorizing and taking hostages, it was the lefts newest members  that the progressives support, hamas!

It wasn’t the right who donates money to supporters of Terrorism , violent  takeover of campuses or Marxist encampments either!

It's not life, it's money. Students don't have a pot to pi$$ in but at some point most get jobs. Then comes the car and the mortgage and every penny becomes precious. Over time they earn more money, they start to save, maybe invest to help those savings grow, and become protective of it. Equality is replaced by freedom. It's as easy to fight the system from a dingy bedsit, as it is to fight for it from a four-bedroom villa.

Thanks for the reply. 4 exclamation marks only. Disappointed. I have voted left and right for what it's worth.

I don't want to get into the Israeli Palestinian issue in detail but it is a good example of what I mean.

Let us say:

What Hamas did was wrong in every way.

The Israeli response can be justified in part - but has often has had too many civilian casualties and too much damage.

Most young protestors you talk of are sending the message that the treatment of Palestinians over time is not fair. There are some protesting on the Israeli side. Point is both have some valid points.

Per 100 pro Palestinian protestors:

A few have had banners that supported Hamas rather than Palestinians - a fair few of those probably by mistake in the early days.

Some have been a bit violent and disruptive - same as they did in protests for decades. Not justifying it but not that amazing or new.

Some don't fully understand the history to make a fair judgement. Probably applies to most with an opinion including myself.

Some can't see the irony e.g. Gays for Palestinians when in reverse gays are not tolerated one bit. Fair point.

The right wing media - and even commentators I admire like Bill Maher - can cherry pick what they see to make the pro Palestinian protestors look silly, absurd and wrong. Some likely are all that. But many are not. Many students probably don't particularly even identify as left wing.

There were similar protests over decades. It's nothing new and not a sign of a push to some extreme left wing future.

So so unnamed far right personalities are supposedly normalized throughout the Republican party, which makes them dangerous, but the left, with like aoc, Cory bush, joy Reid, al sharpton and my personal fave Rasheeda Talib are problem at all?

I am saying on the Republican side Trump has pretty much total control over his party and what he represents is ..no need to go through that.  On the Democrat side there are more of a range of voices  .. you mentioned 3 politicians - a tiny few - who have opinions some of which are often normal and some a bit more out there. I don't know all that they are about but like AOC - she's smart - even if I don't agree with everything she wants. I don't have a problem with politicians having an opinion on the Palestinian issue.  It's not simple. In any case they don't have control of the agenda for the Democrats.

I recently heard a perfect explanation of the difference between lefties and righties.

Righties believe lefties are generally good people, with some dumb beliefs.  Lefties think righties are dumb people.

Saw it all the time in Galveston where I was a Covid refugee.  People wearing Biden/Harris hats and T-shirts weren't harangued, while people wearing MAGA hats and tees were accosted and even asked to leave some events and venues.  Trump signs were ripped out of front yards, while Biden signs stayed right where they were.

The most irritating thing is their confession by projection, where they claim it's the conservatives that are burning cities, causing general mayhem and threatening democracy.

It doesn’t get much worse  than

Calling for the “Final Solution” or “By any means necessary” ,other than this chant by the radical far left wing of the dems!

'Death to America' chants in Dearborn echo across social media, draw local condemnation

And carnivores?

Doubt there is much more who commit 100%

Most people are omnivores, not many live as vegetarian their whole life either, at least not in the west.

Over 1.5 Billion people worldwide eat no meat whatsoever. Of them, however, over 95% of them would eat meat if they could. That means that most people around the globe are only vegetarian because of economic reasons

https://www.greatgreenwall.org/supplements/vegetarian-statistics/

I guess it safe to say most vegetarians and Vegans is left or Hindu (buddhism and Jainism (an reaction to Hinduism) is offsprings of Hinduism)

You know what, extreme partisanship on either side incites violence in themselves and others around them. I think hate speech is a load of crap and that people should take responsibility for their own actions and make their own decisions. But perhaps 10% of the would 800 million people are extremists, we can't lock them all up, and have to learn to live with them. Acts of terror are not the end of the world, America has moved on since 9/11, and now support acts of terror against Russian. citizens. Hatred and extremism are dangerous. I try to steer clear of them and use the ignore function on here to make sure I don't have to listen to them.
