Best Mid Range Video Card

What do you guys think is the best video card around the 6,000 - 8,000 price range?

I typically play games around 12-18mnths behind the release to stay off the bleeding edge. Something that would play Battlefield 2 ,Company of Heroes & Half-Life 2 at good frame rates @ 1680x1050.

Or is there something upcoming in that range to wait for?.

For midrange I would highly recommend the Nvidia 8600GTS with DDR3 memory.. Here in canada it works out to be around 7500baht.

This is a dx10 card, with HD video playback support, SLI support as well in case u want to setup 2 video cards to increase performance.

If it was me I'd stretch to the 11k mark and pick up an 8800GT, or just wait till that card comes down to 8k baht.

I have the 8600GTS. It actually works well at 1680x1050 on Supreme Commander, so I think it's more than enough. When I get a monitor that can actually handle more resolution, I might think of changing.

I second the GeForce 8800GTS (320MB) card. I bought the ASUS card and so far it's been great.
