Using an overseas Debit Card to minimise paying tax for those of us staying over 180 days
That's not true, it's equally as relevant, the existence of a DTA doesn't negate tax, it merely restructures who the tax is paid to and at what rate -

Thailand's Constitutional Court to Decide on Move Forward Party's Dissolution on August 7
I have removed an inappropriate post. Reminder of rule 4. You will not express disrespect of the King of Thailand or any member of the Thai royal family whether living or deceased. You will not criticize the monarchy as an institution. Speculation, comments or discussion of either a political or personal nature are not allowed when discussing His Majesty The King of Thailand or the Thai royal family. -

Quality Inner Tubes?
Tubeless on a spoked rim is a bit difficult but apparently not impossible. 70/90-17 front and 80/90-17 rear tubeless on mag wheels should be ok on a wave. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/i4708479133-s19411610796.html Air that we breath contains 78.08% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.03% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other trace gases.. I'll continue pumping up my tyres with good ole "air" -

The Tim Walz thread.
Did a what? A worm? Insulting again. Try addressing Walz and his weird theories about male periods and 6yo trans. That is creepy. This guy would get smashed in other countries for such extreme views. -

I think you are right and not to rain on your parade because I think 2017 is very safe. But there is a question as to when the sale proceeds of a capital asset such as a house, actually become savings and nobody seems to know. For example, if you sell your house in January and then remit the proceeds in February, are those considered savings? Probably not is the short answer, especially if the sale and the remittance are made in a year when you are Thai tax resident. If you weren't tax resident in the year of sale or remittance, the funds are not assessable. -

No, it does apply, the Thai authorities can audit you and you would have to prove that your income derives from sources covered in the DTA. I would not want to be in that position. -

Swing States & Election Integrity!
Thank you for posting news sources for reading. I have read previously the Republican charges of voter fraud, that the 2020 election was stolen (Trumpettes not the current gilded traditional Republicans). Absolutely support continuing to have both Republican and Democrat election representative at each polling place (“a” not groups). I recall how many challenges were brought in the courts without voting fraud being shown and I thank the Heritage Foundation for reporting the following result of their study. “Voting by non-citizens is extremely rare. A voter fraud database run by the conservative Heritage Foundation, which covers several decades in which billions of votes have been cast across the country, contains 29 entries that mention non-citizens. In some of these, a non-citizen registered but did not vote.” -

Thai woman wonders about paying friend for regular work lifts File photo for reference only A lady from Thailand recently took to an online forum to ask if it was correct to financially compensate her friend for giving her a lift to work during heavy rainfall. The woman was unsure if the 100 baht she paid for each journey for fuel was above board and was perplexed about the etiquette surrounding this situation. Nonbinary and Transgender Nikki Hiltz in the Paris Olympics
From the 18th century, until the mid 20teens, it was frowned upon. The AP Stylebook has accepted such functions of they, them, and their since 2017, and Merriam-Webster made the singular they its word of the year in 2019. Only in the 18th century did grammarians declare that the singular they was invalid, their reasoning being that a plural pronoun can’t take a singular antecedent. https://www.mentalfloss.com/posts/singular-they-history If you used it at my 1970s high schools, you'd have been considered a dork, and graded down on English scores. Not to mention the increased chances of a wedgie. -

Thai woman wonders about paying friend for regular work lifts
A lady from Thailand recently took to an online forum to ask if it was correct to financially compensate her friend for giving her a lift to work during heavy rainfall. The woman was unsure if the 100 baht she paid for each journey for fuel was above board and was perplexed about the etiquette surrounding this situation. On August 2nd, in a disagreement over transport matters, she shared her situation on the Pantip forum. The lady who works part-time at a bar in Lampang, usually uses her motorcycle for commuting to work. However, during the rainy season she decided against traveling the 7-kilometer distance on her bike due to safety reasons and also to avoid getting wet. Subsequently, she requested a male friend who lived close by to drop her off at work. He agreed to do so and she used to pick her up at 5pm and drop her home at 12:30am. Things went smoothly until, after the second drive, her friend asked for money towards fuel. Initially she assumed it was a one-time request, but her friend continued to ask her for 100 baht every time he drove her. Perplexed by this, she asked their common friends if this was routine behavior. She came to know that this friend usually expected others to contribute towards fuel for drives. While she normally paid the fuel money, she felt the amount asked was too high especially considering the recent increase in fuel prices. She questioned whether it was appropriate to always give money to a friend, considering it as a matter of courtesy. Most online users empathized with the friend who was giving her the lifts, noting that he was not her personal driver and using his car required fuel which costs money. Moreover, the time he took out of his routine to ferry her was also a sacrifice. Users pointed out the difference between asking a friend for an occasional lift, and taking advantage of their generosity too often. The majority suggested her to consider using a taxi service instead, as it wasn't her friend's duty to transport her to work, as reported by KhaoSod. Some comments said, “It's reasonable for your friend to ask for fuel money. It's not just about the cash but also the time and effort he puts in for you.” “Perhaps it's time to seek alternative transportation. Your friend seems to be helping you out often and might feel he's being imposed upon.” File photo for reference only -- 2024-08-07 - Cigna offers a variety of health insurance plans designed to meet the minimum requirement for medical treatment coverage, with benefits reaching up to THB 3 million.
