Immigration visit- Kalasin

I had an immigration visit last week after renewing my extension to stay.

 

He came to the house with a female officer.

 

This apparently is still the fallout of the elephant park guy in Phuket and clampdown on foreigners.

 

He said he needed to speak to my neighbours to see that I have been a nice guy.

 

That was actually quite handy, as my MIL lives in the house next door and SIL on the other side. We have a compound.

 

MIL started telling him about her ailments, she's 84, He tried to explain that he was here to check on the foreigner not her ailments.

 

She was having none of it.😆 She wanted some attention.

 

His parting words were, ' I'll see you in six months, or maybe not '

I will likely be dealing with Kalasin Immigration in the near future.  Nice to know they have a sense of humour...

Pretty normal immigration officers visiting foreigners homes. My wife asked the reason why, he stated because many foreigners do not live where they say (house notification) they live

My first one in 27 years.

 

Anyway, it went smoothly when he saw the houses, the history, photos etc

They have been to my place before.  I didnt even hear their knock so they went and asked the neighbours about my comings and goings and then left without a word.  Might try that next time lol!  But yes the Kalasin guys are ok ..........if you are ok.
