The city of Pattaya has rolled out a new training program aimed at enhancing the document writing abilities of its employees. This program will focus on writing official letters and recording meeting minutes.

This initiative, spearheaded by the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Pattaya City, Dr Siwat Boonkerd, aims to ensure that the city staff can create precise and effective official documents. This is expected to improve communication efficiency within the city administration.

The Head of the Personnel Promotion and Development Department, Chatruedee Timkrajang, emphasized the importance of well-drafted official letters and meeting records in accomplishing the city's duties. She insisted that clear communication is an important aspect of municipal tasks and sharing vital information, especially with lower-level administrative units.

The training initiative, conducted by the Staff Division and supervised by the Personnel Promotion and Development Department, has set several clear goals.

First, the program seeks to improve participants' writing skills, guiding them to craft clear, accurate, and eloquent official letters. It will focus on the use of language to effectively convey the intended meaning.

Secondly, participants will learn to become efficient in documenting meeting minutes. This skill will enable them to accurately record the proceedings of meetings, which is extremely important for smooth operations and informed decision-making.

With this training, Pattaya aims to strengthen communication within its departments. The city expects the program to facilitate smoother processes and increase overall efficiency, thus allowing the city to provide better services to its residents.

It's a shame that does not happen at all schools and universities.

Most grads of secondary schools in the US and now the Islamic Republic of the UK write poorly. The writing here bears witness, no? Unis I think aren't much better, now focusing on the expression of virtuous thoughts, but it's likely the program referenced in the OP is mostly for non-uni grads. And the program is probably teaching the standard formats used for gov't docs.

Anyway, good on 'em.
