Thailand Video News: Peta Protests Against Coconut-Picking Monkeys (short)

Peta Protests Against Coconut-Picking Monkeys:

Peta Asia protested at the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, urging Thai authorities to stop using pig-tailed macaques for coconut picking. Protesters, dressed as "monkeys" in prison uniforms, highlighted the abuse and forced labour of these animals in Thailand's coconut industry. Peta Asia's senior VP, Jason Baker, emphasized that macaques are mistreated despite legal bans and past promises. Peta demands stricter enforcement to end macaque mistreatment.

My experience: the monkeys are well trained and the owners treat them in a caring way. Always get a reward and never let them work the whole day but only for a few hours.

"Save the monkeys" forget about the abuse of children and young adults in unsafe sweat shops in Pakistan and other countries. Good to see that Peta has its priorities right. In todays world dogs are treated by many better than they treat their own children and in some cases better than themselves.

While the welfare of the monkeys and their working conditions are of concern to us all but more important is, have they worked out the correct pronouns to use for them.

PETA uses hyperbole and fantasy ideas to vilify this practice.  Animals have been have been domesticate and used to help people for thousands of years.  Focus on the owners who treat the animals harshly and leave the others alone.  It's not that difficult.
