Kamala Harris Defends Policy Stance in Heated Fox News Interview
You mean he should have let her go on and on indefinitely without answering the question? Did the mean man hurt poor the poor little woman? She was treated much better than anyone on the left ever treated Trump. -

I met Mr Independent
... People who try to face every obstacle by themselves get worn down, and eventually it can lead to depression or worse ...
IMHO, that entirely depends upon the individual. I have always faced my obstacles alone, and either overcome them or found an alternative solution. I absolutely do not like to rely on others because - from previous experience - I have been let down by those who claim to be supportive. Better to do it myself! -

Man Brutally Killed After Being Run Off the Road in Nakhon Si Thammarat
very misleading story.. deep wounds in face and neck could have happened if the driver was not wearing helmet. how do they know he was driven off the road? How do they know the pickup caused the crash or violently killed the man. How do they know the conversation was not about getting help? -

iCon Fraud Unveiled: Lessons in Greed and Hard Truths
This story is as old as humanity itself. (And so, not typically Thai!) From Adam and Eve to the medieval alchemists who promised to turn lead into gold to the gigantic Ponzi scheme of Bernie Madoff, the promise of a free lunch is forever beguiling..... -

Human Traffickers Cram Migrant Workers into Van: 2 Dead, 8 in Critical Condition
It's big business, the going "rate" for a Philippine worker's paperwork - to be legal - comes at a "handling fee" of 70,000 Baht. They are more expensive to the rest, i.e. Khmer or Laotians; the cheapest are the Burmese (20,000 Baht) as they flee from their homeland due to a raging civil war. If this government would facilitate foreign workers taking up legal employment in Thailand, all this would have never happened. Thailand is sooooo short on labour on all educational levels and if they want to get their tourism going, then they will have to get those alien in to work at restaurants, hotels and guest houses. -

Tell me why Pattaya to BKK by his
Ah, fondly remember my first trip in 2009. I would just observe that it is a learning experience so I would think they thought that was the best way of doing things simply by not knowing the alternatives. I was quite lucky, found a driver with car near the hotel I was staying … reasonable cost and I was still working so I hired him to both take me around some in Bangkok and drive me to Pattaya. I have now been here 13+ years and am much more able to wheel and deal than during that first trip. -

If Trump is re-elected what does it say about the I.Q of the average American?
You are joking, right? He lies constantly, all the time. Does he ever talk a minute or two without lying? And you trust such a guy? Pathetic! -

BLACKPINK’s Lisa Shines at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show BLACKPINK’s Lisa captivated audiences at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York with her electrifying performances. Opening the show with her hit single "Rockstar" while riding a suspended motorbike, she dazzled in a leather two-piece. Kamala Harris Defends Policy Stance in Heated Fox News Interview
Notice how that same 'logic' is missing when it comes to Kamala hiding in her basement like Biden did. Never heard a Dem supporter demand Kamala attend more events or interviews, but Trump takes a break and they think he is dying and hiding it. They recall that disaster when Clinton collapsed and they denied anything was wrong - when the best approach would have been to immediately admit she took a turn and it was because she was doing to much. I note the MSM is once again attacking Trump's health as an issue - but I also remember they poo-pooed any suggestion Biden was not fit for Office for years. Trump will take a break (he is 78) and come back better than ever for the last week IMO - he aint 69/70 anymore and fit enough to do all that traveling, the long hours, and long rallies - he needed to slow down and match Kamala's pace 😁 -

Nationwide Alcohol Sales Ban Set for October 17th as Thailand Marks End of Buddhist Lent
Except the ban will not be "enforced" will it. The police keep a very closed eye on village stores selling liquor. -

LH Invests 5.7 Billion Baht to Elevate Pattaya's Shopping Scene
Most of those in T21 haven't travelled half way round the world. They come from other Asean countries or places like China, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong. That end of 2nd Rd mostly caters to the same market. Westerners, South Asians and Russians do visit as well but not in as great numbers. It appears to be the case that the mall's initial popularity took the owners by surprise because they had to build a second multi-storey car park. -

King Charles: Australia's Future as a Republic Rests with Its People
I guess it's about time the Saxons started petitioning for the return of their lands stolen by the Normans. What a fatuous argument. Every royal visit costs a fortune in security, accommodation and logistics. Just because the Samoans are simple, does not mean we have to be. We have enough problems of housing affordability and COL without wasting money on superfluous visits by royalty, who just view us as a break from the monotony of British weather. Isn't it time you grew up? -

Pattaya reopens entertainment venues after day of alcohol sales ban, prepares for upcoming
All these funny laws, regulations and the interpretation left to the individual "officer" must be accounting for billions and billions of bakshish left right and centre. This whole rannygazoo on alcohol ban due to Buddhism - to take an example - is a Thai-government-made license to extort money by the "enforcers". All other Buddhist countries have no such restriction. Same with alcohol at the beach, no beach chair on Wednesday et al. Obviously the powers-to-be do not want to touch/change anything as it would derive them from substantial income - for themselves as well as for all those greedy goons higher up. These proactive measures - stepping up enforcement to ensure compliance with standard regulations - aim to prevent illegal activities, including drug use, underage patronage, possession of unlicensed weapons, and prostitution. Officers perform random checks on entertainment venues serving alcohol, verifying business licenses and staff documents, and ensuring no illegal activities were taking place. Pull my left leg and it rings Jingle Bells, all the way to the bank 😉 -

Luxury Hotels in Thailand Plan Rate Hikes Amid Tourist Surge
Luxury Hotels in Thailand Plan Rate Hikes Amid Tourist Surge As Thailand's tourism sector anticipates a strong high season, luxury hotels plan modest rate hikes amid increased tourist demand, while budget hotels struggle. September's average occupancy dropped to 55%, lower than pre-pandemic levels. High-end accommodations saw a 58.7% occupancy rate, while budget hotels only reached 45%. Regional disparities were notable, with northern hotels suffering from flooding. Luxury hotels expect rate increases of less than 10%, while four-star hotels anticipate over 20% rises. October occupancy rates stand at 55.6%, with a 5-10% tourist increase predicted. Hoteliers also seek government relief for flood recovery.
