Cavett Hailed from Yale: And, there's still no substitute for IQ plus Culture!

Dear Folks,

 

This dumbed-down world in which we live has become exceedingly boring. Yet, we have become used to our boredom and just endure it.

 

It was not always that way.

 

There is no such thing as quality or QC in any parts of our lives.

And we are so busy and distracted that we have not sufficient time for introspection; and so we do not notice just how dreary our environment and the world we know, has become.

Nobody stops to think that all is now sub-standard, simply because there is no longer time to care.

 

IQ and Culture once was important, if only to an elite few.

I was so lucky to be among the elite who were born in the best time in America.

 

Cavett is a strange bird who hailed from Yale.

Not everyone today shares enough in common-experience with guys of that era to be able to listen and have what is discussed resonate with them.

This is a good thing.

 

I would not wish to have much in common with those living today, especially in view of, and compared to, what I enjoyed back then.

The entire world has changed more radically in the past five decades than most of us can clearly recall, these days, now that we are so old, and oh-so wise, like me.

 

Anyway, what was it like in the 60s and 70s for the elite of the creme de la creme?

I knew it well....

And, here is Cavett, one whose thoughts still resonate with us, and even the young, today.

Those were better times, and times which are now lost.

 

As we face the End of Organized Society, if not the End of all Humanity, 

Let us give thanks that the power grid is still with us, enough to watch this vid....

 

 

 

Of course, back in the day, we still had total AAAHOLES like, well...

Dr. Marcus Welby, M.D, ...for one.

 

Whatever happened to William Shatner, I wonder...

He was one who was not as he seemed.

Note: Cavett is still a young 87. Next year, he will be a young 88.  It's good to be introspective. Being introspective helps us to realize who we are, and where we have been.  But of course, scoring high on neuroticism can have it's downside, as well.  Cavett speaks about Psych Issues in another interview, a long pod cast, which is available on the web, somewhere.  But, there is no point in linking to it here.  It might spoil the good vibes.

Seeing Marcus Welby seated so uncomfortably and STIFF, behind Hendrix, during this interview... is such a...

Drag....

 

Brings back so many memories of that Generation Gap, which actually DID exist at the time.

 

 

Hendrix would die just months after the interview...

Quite a waste of talent and a good life ahead.

Temperature has been really nice too. Most days quite comfortable. Found a good source for large sized raincoats?

The fundamental problem with raincoats, today, as with just about everything else is Quality Control and Quality Assurance.

 

Most Garbage People, or trash collectors, judging by the way they look while walking on the streets of this world...

No longer care about what they wear.

They have no sense of self-respect, or self-worth.

 

Just looking at what they wear on the streets, which I would not consider to be street clothes, then they might just as well go naked.

 

How far has the world fallen!

 

Our entire world is becoming crammed with Junk, and nothing but.

 

This is caused by deteriorating Culture and increasing stupidity.

 

The question is...

How can these downward trends be corrected....?

Huh? Are you a crazed babbler? It's rainy season. I need a good quality large sized rain coat. What you just typed is bizarre and meaningless.
