Clear from day 1

From day 1 it was clear that the Ukraine could not win this war. Period!

The only question remains is, will the Russians stop at the western Ukrainian border or will they travel unopposed thru Hungary straigtht to Austria. Straight into the "heart of Europe". Unopposed by Hungaria as the Hungarians will not shoot at Russians.

That is the only question that remains.

No, they won't as that would initiate a NATO response and that means MAD.

BTW, when Russia couldn't even take Ukraine when it was at full strength, what makes anyone think they could take Europe now they have massive troop and materiel losses?

At Russia's current rate of advancement.   This will require 300 years and 300 million more soldiers.

Yes because we all know that war advances at a steady predictable rate.

" This will require 300 years and 300 million more soldiers.  "

to do what? March all the way to  Fredonia .

An additional question:

how many more Ukrainian soldiers would it will require  to defend?

and finely. with a Ukrainian population of 38 million  and a Russian population of 144 million , who do you think has the edge in the attrition issue?

You think Russia is winning?

Russia has already been thrown back further, from its initial territorial gains, to a greater extent than Germany was from its initial gains made in 1914.

Presently Russia is "winning" like Germany was "winning" at Verdun in 1916.

Russia is not going to get anywhere near Ukraines Western border.

My concern for the Ukrainian people is more and better placed than those who support this war, where the Ukrainian people are being used as cannon fodder in the US's proxy war with Russia, My above assessment is a pragmatic one. Do you find any faut with it? if so I like to hear it. And has nothing to do with concern or lack of concern.

Those who support the war are the worst enemy of the Ukrainian people, . With friends like them who needs enemies .

The people of Ukraine choose to fight because they want to remain a free and sovereign country.  You want Ukraine to give up because you support Putin.

What possible reason do you have for imagining that Russia wants to cross the western border and start MAD?

They can die in a lost cause if they wish. Zelensky isn't going to tell them to stay home.

It’s not a lost cause, this war is going bring down Russia.

Yes. Russia’s stated primary objective was the demilitarisation of Ukraine, not territorial gains as misrepresented by western media. In this respect they are succeeding to the point of even demilitarising Nato.

Exactly, one by one NATO countries governments are being voted out of office. Of course that is something Zelensky does not need to worry about as he cancelled elections.

The Russians have no intention of expanding the conflict.  They didn’t even want the current conflict, but they saw the expansion of NATO as an existential threat.  Putin has been saying as much for years, but the Western warmongers didn’t listen.  And so we have the narrative that Putin wants to reassemble the old Soviet Union.  That’s silly.  It’s a recipe for bankruptcy.

Seems we have someone on the forum that doesn't realise that Russia has nuclear weapons. If Russia were to "go down" Europe and probably large parts of the US will be reduced to ash. The Hiroshima bomb was peanuts compared to what they invented since. Look up hydrogen bomb on google.

Don't think that is their intention, they just want a buffer between their border and NATO troops.

The two week war is now over two and half years.   This war did prove one thing.  Russia is a paper tiger.

Try not posting slogans put out by propagandists.

The vaunted Russia military planning on rolling over Ukraine in two weeks.   Over two and a half years later they are still trying.

Russia invented nothing in nuclear weapons. Some stupid scientist gave them the tech when they erroneously thought there had to be equivalent weapons on both side. The Russians have never invented anything.

Your comment would be more relevant had Russia wanted to "roll over Ukraine" ie all of Ukraine.

There is not and IMO never was a need to occupy all of Ukraine to achieve the objective.

Perhaps it's relevant to note that despite billions of $ of western military equipment, Ukraine is losing ground, not gaining it.

How are those Leopards that were going to win the war doing? Haven't heard much about them for a while, and now it's all about how 10 planes are going to turn the tide, LOL.

Russia's problem is that it tries to punch above its weight.

It still sees itself as a big power but its GDP is not even at the level of Italy' GDP. It's an economic drwarf. The way it goes, Mexico will soon have a higher GDP than Russia.

Russia lost the war in Ukraine.  Putin is stuck in a quagmire with no way out, and the Russian economy is slowing degrading.  But, at least he has people like you to spread his propaganda.
