Vance calls out Harris

Is she using a teleprompter? Any competent actor can do a good job looking confident if they only have to read a script. Even Biden managed to fool a lot of people.

I think so. All told to her before as well with notes. Democrat rallies are 100% scripted. No wonder actors like them. Fake like them.

These two political campaigns, Harris and Trump, have no resemblance to the campaigns I experienced over my lifetime. The press not only cheerleads for its favorite candidate. It not only covers up for its favorite candidate. But it now invents stories and pushes outright lies to help its favorite candidate. Everything is orchestrated.

Left wing networks are owned by Democrat supporters. Fox is owned by an Australian who supports the right.

Youtube and economic websites give the truth. Look at the data, look at the actual speeches unedited by liars.

Harris needs sheeple like you. Simpletons who repeat the same lies over and over.

Wow you have lowered yourself to susanlea's level. Had you better than that.

First time I have posted this, in fact I have almost stopped posting in politics here because of the low level of debate. Resorting to no facts and just hate and name calling.

Yea, this is a VERY important fact to take into account. So, what does this fact tell us? Why has the media, especially recently, become so polarized and highly biased? Here lies the problem with modern democracy and political environment. There exists a relatively small very wealthy group of individuals attempting to pull the strings one way or the other to serve their agenda. This is something the OP obviously is not aware of and should be as media outlets like Fox News spew extreme propaganda AND IT IS NOT FOR THE BENEFIT OF IT'S AUDIENCE. In fact it is NOT IN THE INTEREST OF IT'S AUDIENCE. But their viewers can't or wont' see it.

That all being said, it is still pretty easy to glean who is and who is not competent and qualified to hold the high offices in the USA. Trump and Vance are woefully under-qualified and frightening in their agenda. At least Kamala Harris has a long successful history as a public servant in jobs that are not for the faint of heart. Being a DA then Attorney General and then senator in one of the most important states in the nation speaks volumes about her abilities.

Trump? He ran a casino into the ground and has been convicted of screwing around and being dishonest in his business dealings.

The choice is pretty obvious without even turning on the computer, looking at your phone or  watching TV.

No argument on that from me. Hence my oft repeated comment that western civilisation is not far off having the barbarian mercenaries walk through the gates to take "Rome" for their own.

The Romans used bread and circuses to keep the mob in check- does that seem familiar with the election campaign? It's certainly a circus.

It's probably deflection. If the masses were to think about their circumstances too much, likely they'd be marching on Washington with pitchforks and tumbrils.

I do wonder how much influence the cable news networks still have. The average age of their (Fox, MSNBC, CNN) viewers I have seen put up on Twitter/X is 69 or 70. Nobody that old changes their minds. That means the true influence is elsewhere. And their must be an extensive system to support, whether it's Tik Tok, Instagram, X, Telegram, others of that nature. One thing I'm pretty sure of is that most of us on AN aren't seeing much of it. I see a fair amount on X. But even X is a minor player compared to the likes of Tik Tok.

Society gets the leaders they deserve. How many voters look at the actual data? Not many.

Short edited videos appear on my phone by the dozen. Most people are too lazy to download a data app to check facts. I think anyone who doesnt know inflation and unemployment for the last 8 years should be banned from voting. That stops idiots voting.

I did see a post on Twitter that claimed the UK government was counting on the beginning of soccer season to kill the protests. I don't know. When does soccer begin? Seems to me it's hardly ever stopped.

Actually I posted the facts with graphs and links proving you wrong. :coffee1:

All you did was post...you didn't prove me wrong. I never said anything about inflation. We can all agree inflation was higher under Biden. Just as inflation was higher in Europe and most of the rest of the world at the time. Do you think Biden was responsible for inflation in the UK and France and Germany? The inflation was caused by supply bottlenecks and government stimulus needed to keep the world out of a depression after the COVID crisis. Would you rather have 25% unemployment and breadlines or temporarily high inflation? You do know inflation is now back back to 3% don't you? And you failed to refute these facts under Trump:

The economy lost 2.7 million jobs. The unemployment rate increased by 1.7 percentage points to 6.4%.

The federal debt held by the public went up, from $14.4 trillion to $21.6 trillion.

The number of people lacking health insurance rose by 3 million.

The murder rate rose to the highest level since 1997.

Which is why I get my info from Al Jazeera. It's not owned by any Americans. Even so, it's very biased against Trump. Be interesting when he wins and the Qatari government has to deal with him.

Snippets, yes. The younger ones don't have the patience to watch even a five minute video. Less than a minute or they're outta there.

Now it's overly commercial it probably has to be on all the time, to pay the bloated wages of men that kick a ball around. Nice job if you can get one. They probably have groupies too.

What? That 3 percent is on top of what has already occurred. Inflation is not down. It's still going up. It was 5.8 percent, then 8 percent, then 3.4 percent. And each of those percentage increases also include the base total of the previous increase.

Stop embarrassing yourself. Debt is massive now. Border a mess. Inflation higher. Unemployment higher. Less people working. Biden gave up.

I think there is probably a difference between local soccer and the monster that is international soccer. I can't say for sure as have zero interest in grown men kicking a ball around.

Been impressed with her confidence at rallies in the last few days. Tim not my pick but he's good in that situation too. Trump's gonna have to write some new material to keep the Maga heads enthused like at Democrat rallies. He'll have to find new ways to denigrate and obfuscate to please his dopey fans.

I am thinking Trump's MAGA base will remain firm. My question is if the majority of the American electorate will vote in November. If they do, Trump and his Project 2025 ilk will be rejected. What is I am wrong and Trump wins the popular vote (which he has never done) ... well, in that case, the USA is not worth supporting and defending. It will be a declaration of a failed state.

2024 is Trump :cheesy:

Maybe numbers aren't you strong suit just like Trump. Trump thinks 25,000 is more than a million! 🤣🤣

“If you look at what Martin Luther King, when he did his speech, it was a great speech. And you look at ours, same real estate, same everything. Same number of people, if not, we had more,” Trump said. “And you look at it, and you look at the picture of his crowd and my crowd. We actually had more people. They said I had 25,000, and he had a million people and I’m OK with it because I like Dr. Martin Luther King.”
