A transgender caretaker of an apartment in Chon Buri has become the prime suspect after a Thai woman found a hidden camera in the air-conditioning unit within her room. The transgender woman vanished from the apartment shortly after the discovery.

Chinese Investor's Unauthorized Aluminium Plants in Thailand Raided Over Health Concerns

Two unauthorized aluminium plants believed to be owned by a Chinese investor in the central Thai provinces of Pathum Thani and Samut Sakhon were raided by the police on August 11 and 12. The plants were suspected of negatively affecting human health and the environment. The raids were initiated after the police discovered a harmful byproduct from aluminium processing known as aluminium dross on a truck.

Bangkok Thief Arrested for Stealing Gold Ring by Posing as Customer

Police in Bangkok have arrested a man who posed as a customer to steal a gold ring. The man, identified as Sakda, replaced the genuine ring with a fake one whilst staff members were not paying attention. He later admitted to having sold the stolen ring for cash.

Rubber plantation worker shot dead near home in Songkhla

Local Thai rice types could vanish from the market as farmers prefer a foreign Vietnamese variety recognized for its softness. This warning comes from Charoen Laothamatas, the Head of the Thai Rice Exporters Association, who fears for the future of traditional Thai strains. He reports that popular local versions like Pathum Thani fragrant rice and KB 79 have seen a decrease in production, being edged out by Vietnamese Khao Hom Phuang, also known as jasmine 85.
