I completely agree, as I've said many times in the past I have major issues with Trump and Vance. I do not have issues with his supporters, I do not have issues with conservatives, I understand why they want to vote for him, I understand that many of the issues they have are different than mine. And that is totally valid. Some of my best friends and some very close family members are conservatives, we have dialogues, and when we discuss politics it is done with mutual affection and respect. 

 

When we start degenerating into a hateful mob, reduced to insults and memes, that's when we really have a problem.

Exactly right and it's the reason his base is so loyal to him. Those guys are all establishment and it was sooooo good seeing them get the Trump treatment. He wasn't elected to be another establishment drone.

    I believe the scientific term to describe Trump is 'totally wacko'.  Only someone totally wacko would go out of their way to both badly insult and alienate the Republican governor of Georgia, one of the very important swing states he needs to win.  Only someone totally wacko would go out of their way to alienate the huge and dedicated  fan base Swift has, riling them up so large numbers of them  will likely get themselves motivated to vote for Harris.  I, for one, am quite happy he is totally wacko, unless he somehow gets elected--then it gets scary awful.

Can't you make that distinction?

I think it's a very important point of clarity, attack the candidate, don't attack his supporters. I do not engage in petty attacks on his supporters like so many others do with supporters of both Trump and Harris

An attack on Trump of the sort that you engage in elicits an angry emotional response in his supporters- I'm not a supporter in the sense of liking him- the enemy of my enemy is my friend- but the things you write about him make even myself angry at you.
