Splitting my time between Thailand & my originating country....
When I got my O-A it was not that easy. I had to get criminal background checks (took weeks) and go in for fingerprinting. I also had to see some quack doctor to do the health form who insisted on a complete blood work battery and a physical requiring multiple visits before he would sign the form. He also billed the insurance for over $2k USD I think before we were one and done. I finally got the form though. It was a two or three month process end to end. -

Advice me on car window tint
Are you sure about that? I don't even take my car to the DLT to renew my tax. They only want the blue book and insurance and money. No inspection ever needed for tax, only for change of ownership. Anyway, let's move on. This thread is supposed to be about window tint. -

'Special' (Private) room at Hua Hin Hospital.
On 9 September we went to the Eye Clinic. My wife will have cataracts removed from her left eye on the 23rd. We were directed to the Information Desk near the main entrance. We were told we could not reserve a special (private) room at that time. Comments are welcome on those who have secured a special (private) room. No family in the area and I will provide 24/7 care for two days. I/we do not want to be placed in a general purpose ward. Terry ( a few miles south of Hua Hin ) -

Do you spend 180+ days in Thailand each calendar (1st Jan - 31st Dec) year? If yes then you are Tax Resident in Thailand if no then you are not. If you are Tax Resident in Thailand then what Tax you owe will depend on your income source(s) but at 80 the 1st 500K should be tax free (60K Personal Allowance, 190K for being >65, 100K Income "Expenses" & the 1st 150K is Tax Free)... Add on more allowances if you're married and/or have kids in Thailand. -

Springfield, Ohio man reported Haitian migrants snatching geese out of park 2 weeks ago
I heard DeWine's interview on NPR radio today and he described the Haitian immigrant community as "hard working". He did mention that obtaining an Ohio driver's license did not require completing a driver's education course and that this was an issue with newcomers. But in general, he seemed to be welcoming of the Haitian immigrants. -
