Certainly tradesmen are skilled, but the idea that other jobs are not is a bit silly. 

All the accountants on the planet could vanish tomorrow and civilization would not end. The same does not apply to plumbers, electricians, carpenters etc.

But once the supply chain that depends on accounts dries up, there’s not much for them to do.

Accountants can be replaced by a machine. A plumber or electrician can not ( yet ).

Saying an accountant ca be replaced by a machine is like saying a carpenter can be replaced by a nail-gun.

Accountants couldn't have been replaced by a machine till now, as AI wasn't developed enough. That is no longer the case.

 

BTW, soon as they can invent a machine that can use a nailgun ( they will be a nailgun robot ) carpenters will be on the out as well. Happily that is some way off.
