Suphan Buri: Subdistrict Administrative Member Caught Exploiting 12-Year-Old Girl
very sad... TIT... pedophilia is very common. Sick minds all around. If someone would do that to my kid, I'd execute him and the aunt no matter what the consequences. -

Liquid limits at airport security...
Nothing is free. It's included. Those credit cards charge fees. If they didn't, they couldn't pay the airlines to offer benefits. Last time I checked, the airlines make more money selling points than they do selling tickets and flying people around. I'm making a pedantic argument, for sure. But for the majority tuned in here, free water from the lounges isn't an option. And pointing out getting water from the lounges is bragging about access to the lounges. Everyone knows there's goodies in the lounges. That's not useful information for anyone. Its free lounge access with the Credit Card. And the flights we get from the Credit card points is also free (tax on top of course). I make far more from the Credits Card usage than they ever cost me - so yes, its free. Valid points though... one of the very good things about Bangkok Airport is that it doesn't fleece passengers. Water can be purchased for very reasonable prices at any of the cafes & shops for anyone wanting a top up (cheaper than most any other airport I've been to in the world). In contrast water probably costs about $10 at Istanbul Airport - I exaggerate, but that airport is an outrageous rip off. -

BBC Chairman Calls For a Thorough Review of Israel-Hamas War Bias
From Danny Cohen, previously the Director of BBC Television “I think there’s institutional bias at play…That’s why it keeps happening. Mistakes happen once, perhaps twice, but when they keep happening you have to ask why. I think there are institutional biases.” He added: “What’s clear to me is there is an ongoing issue with anti-Israel bias that there appears to be an inability to control.” Cohen called for an independent inquiry into antisemitism and anti-Israel bias at the BBC. “On a daily basis Britain’s Jews are being harmed through its unbalanced reporting of the Israel-Hamas war and the failure of its senior management to get to grips with it,” he wrote. “This means that the time has now come for a long overdue independent inquiry into the corporation’s editorial and management failures in its reporting of Israel.” -

Revisiting History: The Unlikely Campaign to Vilify Winston Churchill
It's quite an interesting debate about history.... However, I doubt that the far-right is motivated by a scientific concern. Why do they come up with this tactic to criticize Churchill (who, BTW was very right-wing)? -

Don’t kill the golden goose! Tax reforms may drive away expats
I am a resident of Canada for tax purposes, even though I stay in Canada less than 180 days per calendar year. I had to file this form with TD Waterhouse when I transferred an RRSP into an RRIF and updated my investor profile. Also I had to file a similar form when transferring a bank account from one branch to another. Even for Canadian citizens not living in Canada, Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) decides if you are a resident for tax purposes. There is a BIG form that has to filed to be classified as not having to pay CRA. Very difficult to escape from CRA. A Canadian, non-resident or resident tax payer, may also qualify their Canadian residential property for higher property taxes, basically if you rent your Canadian home while outside Canada. Certain cities like Ottawa and Toronto, maybe Vancouver, have an extra property tax if the owner doesn't live in it and classify it as their permanent residence. -
