Trump: “There Will Be No Third Debate!”
I agree, he's desperate for eyeballs. "No I won't, yes I will, maybe, NO, OK, fine!" He's just playing games. He will certainly come around once there is an opportunity, regardless of good deal or bad deal in his mind. He won't walk away. He can't help himself, even though he will get crushed again. He surely won't pick up any new voters, but his ego thrives on all the shoulder pats he gets from his old base. Trump is obsessed with Trump. -

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
In the Australia forum, in relation to Article 19 of the DTA, you said, and I quote, "Forget about Article 19." You said this because, in your "interpretation" Article 19 had no impact on Article 18, despite Article 18 relying on the "provisions" of Article 19. Now, here you are in a different forum saying Article 19 means tax must be paid. So, do we "forget about Article 19" or be concerned about Article 19? -

Trump: “There Will Be No Third Debate!”
We certainly have different opinions. I’m sticking with mine. I guarantee she would not agree to a Trump terms debate. You know that as well. Let’s say Fox network. Hannity and Meagan Kelly as mods. I think that’s fair given the past two debates Trump had. Do you agree that would be fair? -

Thailand Visa Exemption (60 days) and Visa On Arrival (VOA) (15 days)
It looks as if the 60 days more than cover my requirements as after 60 days I will be spending a week in Taiwan and then return to Thailand when I plan to stay one more month this is on a UK Passport. However my friend is on a German passport so am I right in assuming that he would get the initial 60 days then extend that by 30 days at the immigration office. Following that 90 days he would then fly to Laos for a couple of days then return to Bangkok and get another 60 days which can be extended for the 30 days at thew immigration office at the end of which he returns to Germany. If that is not feasible how could he cover the approx 6 months (16th Oct - 9th April) he wishes to stay. -

Springfield, Ohio man reported Haitian migrants snatching geese out of park 2 weeks ago
The "citizens with boots on the ground", as you call them, are responding to a bunch of debunked social media reports and imagery, many spread on right-wing accounts as the ABC report (among others) recounts below, that purported to involve Springfield but in fact have not been shown to have any or any substantiated connection to Haitians in Springfield...including: --a non-Haitian, American-born woman elsewhere in Ohio who is being prosecuted for killing and attempting to eat a cat. --a photo of a black man carrying a bird that has been shown to have been taken far away at a different Ohio city many weeks ago, and the person who took the photo has told news agencies that he has no idea who the man was carrying the bird and had no indication the man was Haitian. ...and a Facebook post about a supposed dead cat found in Springfield that was something like a third-hand hearsay report, and likewise, never substantiated as either true or having anything to do with Haitians.- 1

Trump: “There Will Be No Third Debate!”
That is the way you make a deal. If you feel that he got a bad deal, then you have to accept that he is not the best at making deals. You cannot have it both ways. Personally, I do not think he got a bad deal; but he surely bombed at the debate. Not because of the deal but because he is who he is. So far, she has offered a new debate; he is the one walking away without even trying to make a deal. Understandable, I wouldn't want another clobbering either, if it was me. He may change his mind, though, when new polls show him behind in the swing states.- 2

Any advantages to retirement over marriage visa?
I have heard such stories from friendly offices. My experience with marriage-based was all day in the sticks - where, at least, they were polite. Submit and review - 2nd person reviews and questions you. This includes review of "how you met" questions every time, even when married for many years. Wait over lunch, return - then the top-ranking person reviews it all over again. Because not using an agent, the District office is furious that no envelope is included, and they seem terrified there might be a mistake. Required documents and pictures changed every year (district-office demand), so need an extra trip in-advance to see what is needed. At some offices like Pattaya, the IOs may be extremely rude, especially to your wife - may add "another document" multiple times / visits - having nothing to do with if you are "really married and living together." If going this route, bring all old passports, past applications, etc in a bag, as they always ask for something else not on the "official" list. My wife, especially, was delighted when I could finally apply for retirement. -

Baht becoming ridiculously strong
My home currency is the US$. My non-financial solution for all the ups-downs of the exchange rates is this. It was easy to remember (and calculate) when the dollar to baht exchange rate was near 30 during one of my pre retirement trips.. So, for many many years after that, up to today, I have used the 30:1 ratio for rough calculations for large purchases, and always come out ahead in what the actual USD cost was. When over 35 or 36...thats a major large transfer signal (last transfer in July at 36.5). This way I dont get worked up between the ups and down between the 31-35 exchange rate. This strategy might work for others (set your own bottom number that works for you) and it will save some heartache during the swings.
