Don’t kill the golden goose! Tax reforms may drive away expats
Talk to any Non B Visa/ Work permit holder, agent, tax advisor or lawyer. If you know an Immigration officer, ask them. They'll all confirm that these are no longer operational. I'm not sure why you continue to try to refute this. Let me try to put it another way, maybe you can accept this. If this was operationally enforced , do you accept there'd be much more discussion or guidance about it on this forum over many years, like there is about every other minutiae of documents and requirements? There's nothing apart from the posts stating it hasn't been in force for many years, and now, your thought bubbles regarding it. -

Excise Dept. on track to meet revenue collection target of 520 billion baht
The Excise Department of Thailand is on track to meet its revenue collection target of 520 billion baht for the 2024 fiscal year. Director-General Ekniti Nitithanprapas announced that in the first 11 months of the fiscal year, the department had already collected over 480 billion baht, representing a 10.6% increase compared to the previous year. This achievement comes despite moderate economic growth of 2.5%, exceeding expectations. The department’s success in reaching its target is particularly notable given the challenges posed by government tax relief measures, including reductions in diesel and gasoline taxes and incentives for electric vehicles (EVs). Looking ahead to 2025 fiscal year, Ekniti acknowledged that the shift from internal combustion vehicles to EVs will present new challenges, as vehicle taxes are the department’s second-largest revenue source after oil taxes. In line with government strategies to position Thailand as a hub for right-hand drive vehicle production, Ekniti noted that several leading automakers are showing interest in investing in the country. This is expected to contribute to future revenue growth. Additionally, the Excise Department has intensified enforcement efforts, resulting in over 31,000 prosecutions for tax-related violations, a 27% increase from last year. The department is also modernizing its services, integrating digital technologies, and preparing to launch a new AI-powered website next week to enhance services for business operators. For more information, the Excise Department can be reached via its call center or through the new website, which will be operational soon. Cenfest immigration report
The 300 baht price sounds like SCB as that's what they charge me for the standard letter and the one-year statement. I just obtained an appointment 90-days out for my next annual extension (snagged the appointment at 2 minutes after midnight for the 90th day out.....). Never have received a ticket number that low but likely would have been less than happy to get "001" and still be sitting there for hours until 11:30AM. -

Any advantages to retirement over marriage visa?
Although you weren't previously clear with what in particle you were referencing to, I assumed it was this little nugget from clause 2 of orders amending order 138/2557 regarding transfers of income to a Thai bank account. Correct me if I'm mistaken. Unless you had an existing Thai bank account in order to commence overseas transfers from the date of retirement, then you are not in compliance with that clause. I previously dismissed your first post on the subject as the OP is only 58, not in receipt of a pension and does not have a Thai bank account. If you were referencing something different, then please be clearer. -
