Questions On Visa Exemption Laws

Featured Replies

First I would like to know if the new visa law on visa exemption is 180 days or 184 days

My case is as follows I have had 3 visa exemptions in my passport since 09/03/07 until 03/06/07. I then went to Vientiane in Lao and applied for a 60 tourist visa which I have just extended for another 30 days (until the 0397) which in total gives me 179 days. If I go to mai sai on the 0397 and stay over night which will take me to 180 days will I be allowed back in the country on a new visa exemption for 30 days?

You will not be into a new six month period. The time is not fixed at 180 or 184 days. It is six months. That makes the day total vary by the length of the months. Believe you will be free to enter again for visa exempt stamp on the 10th of month nine

I believe that i can go to the imigration office and get a 10-12 day extention which will take me passed that period is that right?

p.s thanks for the assistance

The most you can obtain on an extension of stay is 7 days. In most cases that would probably be enough.
