Thai Property Reforms: A Boon or Burden for Foreign Buyers?
As I see this, the changes being contemplated are designed to benefit the top 0.5-1.0% of wealth holders … like K. Taksin and his buddy’s. These people make the rules to benefit themselves. There is nothing in this for the other 99% of Thai’s, other than higher costs and putting at risk housing affordability for future generations. -

Another Leftist caves
A terrific waste of resources and money! If net neutral for most Canadians then why bother in the first place? Posturing. Absolutely unnecesary from the get go. Just a woke greenwash masquerading as white knights to save the world via taxpayers wallets. Typical nonsense, just like the $250 checks in process for next spring. Costs more to implement than to just come clean and admit it's a greenwash. But again, do not underestimate the short mindedness and ignorance of the Canadian electorate. -

Have You Won the Game of Life?
well I have lived in many countries of the world and actually in my experience (possibly only me) but 5 countries in Europe, 9 Asian countries, 2 African countries, 1 central American country - and I spoke the languages well enough to mingle and chat with locals throughout the period of my stays (anywhere from 3 mos to 12 years) and every place, those locals actually told me that they envied the freedoms of the US of A and for the most part, the citizens too. I listen to the expats here, also expats in Europe and the PI and many are exactly like some of those on this forum. I am not proud of a lot of the changes in America today. To me, the problems began with Vietnam and the media constantly bombarding the public with war pictures so that many became anti government but the real problem just spread IMHO with the younger generations, as many believed what they were being told about the world yet none of those younger folks cared much about that as they were hung up on "social media" and the wokeness being spread by the extemely polarized talk show folks tryiing to outdo each other. Now, the country is literally flooded with illegal immigrants - many probably great people but some really bad ones too. Illegal drugs plus even the legal being passed out by pharmas, spreads yearly and the govt can't seem to get a handle on that - probably because some get so rich off of the use of these drugs. Elected seats are filled by those that the rich and powerful IMHO because those powerful people want to reap even greater profits every year. If one doubts it just google "new billionaires during the COVID pandemic" and that will maybe change some mindsets. But, believe me, most Americans really do appreciate the freedoms guaranteed by our US Constitution now well over 200 years old, with a few amendments along the way insuring all are treated equally. Almost all of us today have ancestors from your same countries. We appreciate those too and in many areas holidays and traditions are celebrated the same as I guess you do in your country. On this forum, there are some really nice people who provide anyone and everyone with what might be helpful information and still others want to critize us for providing that information. Some that used to provide help now are silenced by those critical comments. All of this above is based on my living expriences for 78 years. I have had friends from just about all of the countries in which I lived and worked. I never critized any of their countries' citizens. Until you live in the world of other people just remember that they are checking you out too and might think that all your fellow farangs are just like you or that you are just like those bad farangs being arrested for various reasons. Just saying, and not criticizing anyone in particular and these are my honest opinions. Good luck to all! -
