My point being, he has mental issues, most likely from depression, because anyone who climbs a tower either is intending to take his own life, or is looking for help. Being drunk isn't an excuse unless there is already something else there. Still nothing to do with being stupid. I wouldn't think he cares much about his ego doing something like this. It's a cry for help.
