You can try to divert all you like.

In 2024, the year he tried to assassinate Trump, he's a registered Democrat.

Your claim that a registered Democrat (and BLM supporter) trying to assassinate Trump has "nothing to do with the left" is ludicrous.😃

It's like saying one of the terrorists who flew into the twin towers once went to a church service in 1993 therefore the 911 attacks in 2001 had nothing to do with Islam. 😆

I’m not diverting Jonny.

I stated he voted for Trump in 2016, that is true.

As for this outburst:

“It's like saying one of the terrorists who flew into the twin towers once went to a church service in 1993 therefore the 911 attacks in 2001 had nothing to do with Islam.”

I have never said anything of the sort, it’s something that came out of your own head.

Get a grip of yourself Jonny.

Too scared of the great man , they don’t want America to be great , wonder if I will be banned ( again) for saying this

  • Dems have been calling for a bullseye to be put on him and saying he's Hitler, Nazi, racist, dictator and a threat to democracy. Their hysterical inflammatory nonsense has to have something to do with

Thanks for pointing out my typo.

It reads the guy was pro Ukraine 🇺🇦 and perhaps the rhetoric of trump saying he would stop supporting and let Russia finish the war was perhaps his reasoning

Know nothing about guns but if you were to seriously assassinate a person would you not be using one of those sniper guns?

Correct, longer, tighter barrel, heavier bullet and a better scope. More suitable rifles are available for very small money. The first kid with a 30-06 would not have missed. An AR-15 or AK-47 are not designed for single shot accuracy, they are designed to fire a lot of bullets quickly.

Planned by the Trump campaign, no doubt. Assassination attempts mean big money from donors.

You’re being selective with your reading Jonny:

From the DM article you linked:

“According to his oft-updated X feed, Routh went from voting for Trump in 2016 to supporting Tulsi Gabbard in 2020 to demanding Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy form a unity team in 2024.”.

Didnt the previous attempted assassin also claimed to have previously been a Trump supporter ?

When did Routh claim to have voted for Trump ?

Did he state that in 2016 or did he state that just recently ?

Could be that they are falsly stating their affliction with Trump just before they attempt an assassination attempt

To say that "the left" is on any way responsible for the actions of one disturbed individual is completely untrue. Laughable.

Again, and for the second time, thanks for pointing out my typo.

If anyone accuses you of being useless, send them to me I’ll put them right for you.

Again thank you, your contribution is much appreciated.

is this a case of you reap what you sew? I wonder how he stands on the 2nd amendment lately. I go along with the outlawing of firearms altogether. Japan, England, most of Europe. Hell what is this US obsession with owning a firearm? Aren't the monthly mass shootings enough to knock some sense into folks.

To say that a registered Democrat trying to assassinate the Republican candidate 2 months before the election is nothing to do with the left is gaslighting in the extreme. There are plenty on the left who support this type of thing, you only had to look at the comments from Democrats after the first attempt ("shame you missed", "better luck next time" etc.).

You'll be saying it had nothing to do with politics next. Maybe he took offense to Trump's golf swing? Yeah, that'll be it. 😃

Yep, and they could also be aliens.

Here's a thought; this could all be planned by Trump and his inner circle. Arrange a couple of half a**ed "assassination" attempts to garner sympathy since it's obvious where the wind is blowing wrt the election. Throw in some fake blood like in the first attempt for dramatic effect and then hope enough gullibles fall for it.

When did Routh first claim to be a Trump supporter ?

In 2016 , 2024 or maybe  even in  2916 ?

It would be rather suspicious if numerous people kept claiming to be a Trump supporters just prior to assassinating  him

Considering Trumps outlandish and outrageous daily lies and false claims I wouldn't put it passed him and his unhinged supporters to pull stunts like this. These folks are power mad and will do or say anything .. literally. Listening to the debate was nauseating. They have folks drinking and lapping up the fear filled double pack double sugar Kookaid .. Fux news etc.

It hasn't been established that fake blood was used in the first assassination attempt , so you are just making that up or repeating   fake news

So anyone who supports the right to bear arms deserves to be assassinated? Are you guys completely deranged?

Just a reminder that the report button is not there to fight your battles for you. Moderators can see when you're doing it and won't take action.

To clarify citing sources:

  • If someone is claiming something new or something that disputes generally accepted information, they should provide a source.
  • If someone is discussing something that has been reported widely in the news, or is citing their own personal opinion (and making it clear that this is what it is) no citation is needed.

We want good information that is valuable to our readers, but also forum posts aren't a thesis, so not every single post requires a citation.

We are speaking English here yea? How the hell did you get that from what I just posted. Read the black part of the post. He is sewing a lot more outrageous negativity than only supporting the 2nd amendment. During the debate the guy just kept bashing and bashing. Nothing uplifting. Just criticizing everything. And his criticism is very general, not even any detail at all. This is dumb, this is really bad blah blah. He's really very inarticulate. His command of English is very limited.

it's easy to be a critic it's much more difficult to actually outline plans that are reasonable and can really be acted on. Deporting millions of illegals in the first couple months of his term. That is impossible and just complete BS that his simple minded supporters actually believe could be done.

No, it's not "untrue". All the vile abuse people on the left heap on Trump, dehumanises him to these psychopaths who think they are going out to save democracy. The left creates the atmosphere of hatred and abuse which has led now to two attempts to murder Donald Trump.

All these people who create this atmossphere of vitriol, hatred and extremism on the left have contributed to this.

I think that the actions of any individual can't be assumed to be accepted by the majority of the group he is in or claims to be in. An easy example of this is believing all immigrants are bad because some commit crimes or that all Republicans are bad because of Trump. I'm a far-left liberal, and I don't believe the assassination of a political opponent is ever warranted, even Trump.
