An elderly man who had been missing for 14 days was found dead by a stream in Trang Province, leaving his son suspicious about the cause of death.

On September 17, at 08:30, Pol. Lt. Kittipoom Hookhiew, an investigator from Nong Ueang Police Station, received a report of a decomposed body found by the Din Dam stream in Village 6, Thung Na, Palian District, Trang Province. Police officers, forensic teams, doctors from Palian Hospital, and volunteers from the Trang Sawang Phakdee Foundation arrived at the scene.

The body was found under a bamboo tree in a rubber plantation, approximately 300 metre from the main road. The decomposed state of the body appeared to have been gnawed by animals. The victim was later identified as 75-year-old Mr. Bang (alias), a Trang resident. His family had reported him missing at Nong Ueang Police Station after he disappeared from his home on September 3, a total of 14 days before the discovery.

At the scene, a sarong and the deceased's clothing were found near the body, along with an old nylon rope used for tying cattle. A blue Honda Wave 100 motorcycle without a license plate was found parked in nearby bushes. Under the seat, officers discovered 708 baht in cash. The body was sent to Songklanagarind Hospital in Songkhla for an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death.

Reporters visited the victim's family home, where preparations were underway for an Islamic funeral. The victim’s daughter-in-law, Mrs. Bee (alias), 47, explained that on the afternoon of September 3, the victim was last seen riding his motorcycle to a lawyer’s house to drink beer. He was not seen again until his body was discovered 14 days later by a local boy who found the motorcycle while looking for frogs. He informed the village headman, who then discovered the body nearby.

The victim’s son expressed his sorrow and raised suspicions about his father’s death. He questioned why only a small amount of money was found with his father, especially since he had recently sold cattle for over 30,000 baht. Additionally, the victim was known to always carry cash and had recently mentioned winning money from gambling. The son expressed a deep desire for justice, stating that he would not rest until the truth behind his father's death was uncovered.

Investigators revealed that the victim had sold cattle for about 30,000 baht two months before his disappearance and had become involved with a 30 year old karaoke bar girl in the area. After the autopsy results are out, the officers will invite her in for questioning.

Did the article mistakenly omit the leading figures "3" & "0"?
