And is that stopping you from looking up and reporting different reports from The Guardian and Independent?

Yes.  The rules of this site state "27. You will not post any copyrighted material except as fair use laws apply (as in the case of news articles). Only post a link, the headline and three sentences from the article."

I would therefore not be permitted to quote long reports from any newspaper - unlike the authorities here.

  • Shock horror. Muslims being intolerant and bigoted.

  • Perfect example of integration in multi cultural UK.    No point in complaining to the police, too busy locking people up for facebook posts.

  • Sign of the times in the UK.  Mr Muhammad objected to his opponent in the election not being a true Muslim like him.  How did we allow this takeover of our political system.  disgraceful  !!

The future of the UK, Western Europe and North America has arrived. This is how the extremists will render the moderate Muslims irrelevant and the tail will wag the dog. All government agencies are being infiltrated and will increasingly fail to work to protect non-Muslims.  The West is lost.

History suggests this will end as badly for Europe as it did for Lebanon.

Food for thought.

There are some differences, Lebanon had a large Palestinian "refugee" community which undermined the integrity of the country, and maintained their own armed forces within the country.

Hezbollah (a militia and political movement essentially controlled and organised by Iran) has effectively taken over the country, and really functions as its government, certainly is the real power; what the Iranian regime says goes. At present the Christian minority is (barely) tolerated. It is not impossible to imagine that they will in time (soon) be persecuted and expelled.

Now at present we don't have that sort of foreign powerbase operating in Britain, although there are, perhaps, some early indications that one is trying to form. Within Europe France is perhaps, a little bit further down that road.

Nonetheless food for thought.

The real question is how much longer will it be before an 'Islamic Party' arises in the UK?   Many Muslim voters would happily leave Labour if a more socially conservative party was available.

In the Netherlands we HAVE a Muslim party, DENK. .And in NL, every vote counts to get a seat in Parliament ( We donot work with the medieval baronies, with the "winner takes it all"). We have 150 seats te divide, with in 2023 "10.475,293 votes brought out, of which 10.432.726 were valid. DENK got with their votes 3 seats. ( so just 2%, with a 5% Muslims in the NL)

Why are the people running this site so keen on pushing articles from The Daily Telegraph - a notoriously right wing and bigoted publication?

How about balancing it with reports from The Guardian and Independent?

.... because the news reports selected by the AN team are chosen to drive traffic.  News about Islamic extremism triggers the British members and news about Trump triggers the Americans.

And we fall for it every time.

A major point of contention during the campaign was Ms. Iqbal’s first name, which led to her Muslim identity being questioned

So nothing to do with being British.

Sad, so sad.

So all you have to do is simply post a link, the headline and three sentences from the article.

If anybody is interested in your post, they can click on the link and read the article.

However, neither is as unbalanced as The Torygraph.

I just would like to see a bit of variety and balance, rather than just the relentless hard right wing reports that are being pushed by this site.

Fair enough. If you are looking for generally unbiased news, try the English language service of DW  from Germany.  I find that of all the international news sources the Germans are consistently honest and fair in their news reporting. France24 is usually informative, except on middle eastern issues, where it becomes politically correct, perhaps out of deference to the very vocal North African population in France.  USA's NPR is also reliable, even though Trump supporters keep calling it left wing. (Which is  weird since  NPR is funded by multiple family trust charitable donations, families who are often identified as Republican supporters.)

I did not find the story here to be about Islamic extremism. Rather, it was a story on prejudice. Muslims have consistently been given a pass on  prejudice. It's as if their  status as a minority group gives them a get out of jail card in life for discrimination  against others.  At the same time we see a story on Reform and Farage and the intent to rid the Reform party of extremist views. This can be argued to be a balance. To date, we have seen a large number of stories on the racist ignorant mobs who rampaged following the dance school stabbing tragedy. Almost never any mention of the constant mayhem in some muslim dominated districts. The reality is that pasty white British nationalists  have not gone on killing sprees in public places. Nor do they descend upon people who look like jews physically assaulting them and demanding their deaths, nor do they attack mosques. It isn't much to cover. Even Tommy Robinson is a bit of a washout since he is rather benign and not particularly violent.

What's the percent of Muslims in Europe?

2035 to be majority Muslim in UK, I read recently.

Your reading bull<deleted> then. Under 6% of the UK population are Muslims (21/22 Census). So how can they increase to 50% in 11 years?

It is disinformation like this that stirs tension. Just like that  which caused the recent riots.
