A gang of teenagers in Pattaya smashed LED advertisement screens on a truck with iron rods on 23rd September 2024. The incident occurred near Royal Garden Plaza, with the victim, Mr. Pongsakorn, 41, filing a report at Pattaya Police Station.

Mr. Pongsakorn was driving the truck to promote a new entertainment venue on Walking Street when the attack happened. The teenagers, on two motorcycles and wearing masks, targeted his truck's screens, causing damage exceeding 100,000 baht.

Despite attempting to chase the suspects, heavy traffic impeded Mr. Pongsakorn's pursuit. He later saw them again near Pattaya Second Road, but they escaped into an alley. He promptly informed his company and filed a police report.

Mr. Pongsakorn suspects the attack could be either an intimidation tactic by a business rival or a reaction to the brightness of the LED screens. Police are now reviewing CCTV footage and investigating the motives behind the incident, reported The Pattaya News.

In an alternate universe, I would love to fire an rpg at vehicles that blast similar  noise, as well as the ones with super bright screens flashing the advertisement nonsense incessantly. That is Assuming noone was in the vehicle, or minded, and rockets were legal to fire at them (especially by foreigners), and noone was hurt or inconvenienced, and it wasnt on a busy city street. 😁

It is amazing that vehicles like that are allowed at all.

I understand when vehicles which are used to transport people or goods have ads. But it seems these ad-vehicles only have the purpose to show ads and clock up the traffic. Just ban them and enforce that rule.

Yeah, I know, just dreaming.

They also move rather slowly and are a hinderance to traffic... a bit of a throwback really.

I've been complaining for decades about the slow-moving speaker vans that some stupid companies & politicians think will enhance their public standing.  Their effect is quite the opposite.  Their message is inaudible; any visual recognition immediately puts them on my (s)hit list.  Their contribution to the carcinogenic air quality should not be underestimated.

Think it might have been this one that was mentioned in Stckman's column on Sunday. Seemingly been hanging around outside other bars trying to pinch girls for work. If it is this one, then it was only a matter of time for some retaliation, especially in Thailand.

After the public lashing they got from a prominent bar group owner on Soi 6 Pattayas finest seemingly dont have too far to look
