Driver Startled Awake by Clever Police Ploy in Nan City
Picture courtesy of Amarin TV A sleepy driver in Thailand had an unexpected wake-up call when police threatened him with a visit from his wife, jolting him from slumber behind the wheel. The unusual incident unfolded in bustling Nan City at 12.30 am on March 12, when locals noticed a pickup truck idling at a red light since 11 pm. Concerned citizens, rescue workers, and police officers attempted various methods to wake the 40-year-old driver, including shouting, knocking, and vigorously rocking the vehicle, all to no avail. The 191 radio centre of Nan Provincial Police dispatched officers to the scene, coordinating with rescue teams from Nan Hospital. Fearing the man inside might be unwell, there were discussions about breaking the window. However, an officer ingeniously shouted, “Your wife is here to get you!” This phrase instantly roused the driver, who awoke to a bemused crowd. Upon realizing what had happened, the driver explained his exhaustion was due to assisting with a relative’s funeral. He had driven past his home by just 300 metres before fatigue overwhelmed him at the red light. It wasn't until the mention of his wife's intervention that he snapped back to reality. The police, while amused by their unconventional success, issued a stern warning about the dangers of falling asleep at the wheel and assisted the driver in returning home safely. This peculiar episode underscores the amusing yet powerful influence of a spouse's imaginary presence in waking a dozing driver, reported The Thaiger. -- 2025-03-12 -

Could Trump's plan fail in a spectacular fashion?
Well, I think we have seen a large bubble and you are right that there will be difficult times ahead. My horse is Forex trading, so I make money if the dollar goes up or if it goes down. A nice trend actually helps. Whatever the direction. -

Anyone here add 1TB/2TB via external enclosure to their new 256GB Mac Mini M4?
Apple used 128GB ram chips on the M1 model, upgraded to 256GB base model on the M2 and have now (I didn’t check before) downgraded/side-graded back to the older 128GB NAND. Depending on your skill it is possible to re-NAND So yes you are correct that the 256 SSD is almost as fast as the bigger models, I stand corrected on my previous posts. However an external drive will get toasty hot, that is why it is usually best to use the internal for other than storage. FWIW I have just started a system update on my external. The resting (unpowered) temperature is 30C after 5 minutes of starting the external and before starting the update it is at 58.1C I will check later but the external may be being throttled. So the external will be able to keep your coffee at a drinkable temperature
