A 50-year-old man was found dead on the morning of September 25, after collapsing into a ditch in a rubber plantation in Nakhon Si Thammarat province.

According to local police, the incident was reported to Pol. Lt. Jarae Phoolkaew, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Tha Sala Police Station. Officers, along with medical personnel from Tha Sala Hospital, responded to the scene in Moo 6, Thaiburi Subdistrict, Tha Sala District.

At the site, authorities discovered the body of the deceased lying face-down in the ditch. The victim was identified as Mr. Veerasak (surname withheld), a 50-year-old resident of Moo 6, Thaiburi Subdistrict, Tha Sala District. An initial examination of the body and the scene revealed no signs of physical assault or theft.

Family members informed investigators that they last saw Mr. Veerasak on the evening of September 24, around 18:00. By the next morning, they learned of his death in the rubber plantation. Relatives expressed surprise over the death, stating that Mr. Veerasak was known for frequently drinking alcohol to the point of intoxication.

Medical professionals on-site concluded that the suspected cause of death was drowning. Police have sent the body for a detailed autopsy to confirm the exact cause of death, and to confirm if he suffered a medical event or just collapsed into the ditch.

The body will then be returned to the family for funeral arrangements in accordance with local customs.
