Most likely not.

Not sure which immigration office you deal with however CW like the mail option posted 15 days prior to due date.

It will allow it, but you'll later get an email rejecting the report stating that it has to be done in person.  By that time it's too late to do it by mail, and you may not be able to get an appointment (at least at Chaengwattana) and be condemned to waiting hours to do so in person.

It would help (you) if you simply shared your situation and reporting office.

I think "the first 90-day report" can be...

your first 90-day report EVER

your first 90-day report after returning to Thailand after an international trip

your first 90-day report after getting a new passport

your first 90-day report after moving to a new address (and filing a TM30)

{and maybe a few other situations}

Have you filed a TM30 for your address?

I think you should file in person, but that's just my best guess.

In my case it's the first report EVER. I'm in Pattaya. But I wanna know what happens when I re-entry the country. Will it be the first report or not?

You mean 75 - 90 days after you return?

It could be, if you hadn't filed one previously. You still have to file in person after reentering Thailand.

As far as I can read, that page says it is possible to report by email.

Read it carefully regarding mail option. Nothing to do with email.

My bad, I meant online, not email.

As I read the page, you have three options, in person, email, or online; thus, it should not be mandatory to report in person or mail the first time.

First 90 day report - does it have to be done in person, not online?

ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー

Try Online only if it works now.

I have tried it before, but never worked.

So I do it in person Every Time.

If they can't properly maintain standard service like this,

how can they expect they can do better with ETA?

Just doesn't make any sense.

In person or via mail.

This link outlines instructions of how to file TM47 via in person, online and mail

If he plans to do the report online in the future then he MUST report in person.

I returned from abroad in February and did the first report my mail. No problem. Tried to do the 2 nd one online was was rejected. I went to Chaeng Wattana and the officer made it quite clear to me that you can only report online after a personal visit.

Just use the TM47 app.

About 5 lines of information.

Too easy.

Response within 24 hours.

Seriously.

Zillion posts in so many threads of online not working for unknown reasons.

And no it's not down to not providing correct information.

As we know using magnifying glass after pp # and name it's auto fill.

You do not need 5 lines.

Yet MANY receive rejection.

Thanks for posting.

The immigration website says:

  • The above mentioned documents (1-5) must be sent by registered mail before the renewal date 15 days to Immigration Office in local area where the foreigner resides.

I don't fully understand this. When should I send my letter to CW?

If due date is Oct 15, I send on Oct 1? Or is that too late?

Just so others are not confused by your post...

The Section 38 mobile app was retired a few years ago.

And replaced with a website.

https://tm47.immigration.go.th/tm47/#/login

accessible with a browser (on a PC, phone, tablet, etc.)

Depends on reporting office, and other unknown variables.

For me, CW, this week, three full days.

What is your reporting office?

The requirement to file a 90-day report in person after returning from an international trip, is well documented. As with any immigration rule, some offices may not enforce this.

Jomtien require an in person visit after you enter the country for a 90 day report. After that you can do it online. You used to be able to do the report online after returning from abroad, but that has changed in the last year.
