But not as much fun as I had reading Rosie Duffields resignation letter to Two Tier Kier.  That damage  had to hurt . What do you think ?

There’s a thread in that, so why the need to bring up your whataboutary here?

You correct. no.

Well my sister passed through immigration without being an immigrant, so I would argue your point was utter tosh.

I'd just admit I was wrong if I was you, you're just drawing more attention it... 😃

And then she left again, after ten days you say.

So, unlike her brother, and thousands of other Farang migrants to Thailand, she’s not living here is she?!

But the act of having passed through 'immigration' did not make her an immigrant, did it?

So let me get this right Jonny.

If your sister had enjoyed her holiday so much that she decided to stay a few years, get married, have children, buy a property, and do so by continually doing border runs (as many Farang do), would she be:

A tourist?

An immigrant?

A migrant?

An illegal immigrant?

An illegal migrant?

She didn't do any of that.

She passed through immigration for a 10 holiday then passed through immigration again to return home. She was not an immigrant. Which makes your post complete nonsense.

So she’s not actually in Thailand, not living here.

Not at all representative of the thousands of Farang who are.

The clue is in the act of having passed through ‘immigration’.

As 'the Alien' nothing more unless you pay taxes for 3 years then they may somewhat resentfully grant you residency if you meet the other requirements.

i was interested as to what your response would be, I had assumed , due to your absence from that thread, that you were unaware of its existence.

in that case , due to  the  courtesies only extended to women who marry Thai males she would pretty much become a Thai citizen   entitled to own land in her own name and even be granted a Thai passport

And back out again.

Not like the thousands of Farangs living here, including both of us.

So the clue isn't passing through immigration, is it?

The clue is actually b being in Thailand.

Simone who is not in Thailand is neither an immigrant, migrant or tourist.

I thought you might be able to work that out.

Not back home its not ,  passing through immigration in the UK appears to be optional these days, at least for the chosen few,  Their immigration status is pretty much confirmed before they "apply"   in fact before  they even arrive

It’s a good point.

If not having a stamp in your passport that says ‘immigrant’ negates the status of being an immigrant, then surely anyone who arrives in the without getting that stamp can’t be an immigrant.

Had any other member pursued this point to the extent you have,   You would be screaming "deflection" at the very top of your voice and done your level best to put an end to this mini debate.  But you appear more than happy to continue with it today.

So the clue is not passing through immigration like you said then? We could have saved some time.

I know what an immigrant is. Unlike you.

No, it makes them an illegal immigrant.

But you already knew that.

Oh, so they are immigrants.

But surely not until they’ve been in the UK permanently?!

Actually it depends why they entered, if they entered to seek asylum they are not criminals.

If they crossed multiple countries to get to one country you have to ask if the are really asylum seekers rather than country shoppers. If they are making false claims in an attempt to be granted asylum, then they are making false declarations and are criminals and benefits cheats.

e.g. I fail to understand how any Ukrainian who is not eligible for military service is in any way a legitimate asylum seeker - Ukraine is a vast country, those who are genuinely fleeing war can be resettled in areas where the war is "right over the other side of the country" as one Ukrainian told me.
