If I wasn't at home, I would do the same. Been awhile since I drove to Sisaket to have one, but I will surely have some burgers, lasagne, Thanksgiving dinner, BBQ and Mexican food when I go next month.

Make sure it has 23 g of fat, or you will die.

I perfectly understood you meant minced meat. Why do you think I checked the fat values for a hamburger? It was obvious.

The point is your figure for the meat did not check out. It was wrong. The correct figure was given, you accepted it, I accepted you want to add a slice of cheese then you get to 20%. No matter, this is still far, far below the reccomended intake for fat that you should eat even on a low calorie diet. Why are you even arguing about this? It's totally pointless.

No...are you being deliberately obtuse? How does 14g + 9g equal 20g? Don't be stupid now.

Remember that the 14g is YOUR figure. I only accepted it for the sake of argument, but USDA say:

Protein 25.8g

Total lipid (fat)17.8g

Ash 1g

Beef, ground, 80% lean meat / 20% fat, patty, cooked, broiled

https://fdc.nal.usda.gov/fdc-app.html#/food-details/171797/nutrients

So in reality we are at 26.8g just for the patty and cheese.

I was closer at 20g than your 14g, so perhaps you can stop playing the fool.

So you were ignoring the previous 234 posts, you lucky soul...😂

I wouldn't mind a cheese burger right now, with extra cheese.

Which became much less already than it was and is at that thin line - with the prices skyrocketing globally, what else can  one expect?

Just because the fact that prices rise for good reasons with certain industries, services and products, in certain countries, does not mean it is automatically true or justified everywhere. This also applies to Thailand, the changes are far more than what has anything to do with prices increasing.

I know for a fact dozens of places that still pay the same rent, put at least half the amount of chicken or pork in dishes, while charging near double the prices, all this while the overall cost of other aspects such was gas, ingredients and wages, are maybe justifying a 20% price increase.

That means a 40 baht meal should now be around 50 baht. The same with coffee, let's say the cost price has increased by like 10 baht per cup, just random figure, they increase the prices here by 30-40 baht. To compensate on having less customers as a result of earlier radical price increases.

Not buying into that, specially not if i know that I can be served the same thing in like south europe, while people there, even with poor wages, earn much more than Thai staff do, and pay more for rent, utilities and ingredients too. Please explain that to start with, you would notice very soon it doesn't make any sense how things are priced in Thailand.

Even I can easily afford everything X3-5 in Thailand, doesn't mean i am very pleased with it, specially knowing that the quality and service lacks on top of all this. And often quality is inconsistent as well. I know when I am being taken for a ride.

Now I feel like a burger for lunch. You guys are to blame for this.

Get a good one, as you don't eat them every day 😊 They aren't a health food.

Once again you suck a new figure out of your thumbs, but you understand that the daily amount of fat you should consume is considerably higher than this, so your whole argument is kind of silly?

Here are a few examples of suggested daily fat ranges for a low fat diet, based on different calorie goals:

  • 1,500 calories: about 50 grams of fat per day
  • 2,000 calories: about 67 grams of fat per day
  • 2,500 calories: about 83 grams of fat per day
  •

So on a mid-range low calorie died I could have 2 burgers and still have room for a carrot cake.

Saturated fat is the issue. Probably more than 20g in a cheeseburger. Pray for that intelligence..

Is Thailand a good value for money - if you have money?

The folks here with money love it here and they are just like anyone with money..they won't spend it unless they get a deal. I see them give 20 baht tips all the time, and you see the wheels turning in their head that they should've tipped only 10 baht.

Imagine having such a little life that you are constantly busy with the miniscule differences of protein and fat or others... Just use common sense and eat diverse.

I don't think there is any concern for that. The question was simply "Are cheese burgers and BBQ meat with BBQ sauce containing sugar considered a healthy choice?"

No one is suggesting that you shouldn't eat them and they aren't tasty. But they aren't health foods and should be eaten in moderation. @fredwiggy insists they are healthy choices 😊 Americans...eh?
