ChipButty Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Any of our members here suffer with Angina? if so what treatment or medicines do you take? I was reading nitrate pills for angina, does it work?
Popular Post chiang mai Posted October 6 Popular Post Posted October 6 What works is a visit to a cardiologist to determine the cause, you don't self medicate for angina, otherwise you die. 1 1 5
georgegeorgia Posted October 6 Posted October 6 What are the symptoms of angina ? I may have this !!! Is it similar to Pericarditis? 1
chiang mai Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Can be mistaken for angina but is actually caused by GERD, another reason to get checked out. 1 1

Yes I have to take Nexium Both GERD and GORD are acceptable terms to describe gastroesophageal reflux. Unless of course your doctor is a pumpkin or a squash, in which case GOURD would be more appropriate. 🙂

Popular Post KhunLA Posted October 7 Popular Post Posted October 7 Since not asking how to get rid of zits ... ... you may want to actually visit a cardiologist, for a real evaluation & suggestions. 1 2
Sheryl Posted October 7 Posted October 7 As others have said this is not something that can be self diagnosed. neither can it be self treated. 1 1

Lacessit Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Get a diagnosis done with an EKG and/or CAT scan with contrast, a cardiologist will then prescribe suitable medication. If the doctor prescribes beta-blockers to slow down the pulse rate, be aware these medications have side effects such as loss of libido, and psoriasis. 1 1

However, we have here on AN people, who give unqualified advises. 1

I have to take one a day 40mg for high blood pressure caused by my testereone shots But I need my testereone shots even though it's going damage to my heart

AFAIK valsartan has zero effect in terms of psoriasis, although it may affect libido.
degrub Posted October 8 Posted October 8 https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-pressure/in-depth/beta-blockers/art-20044522 and Valsartin https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/valsartan-oral-route/description/drg-20067355

I woud want coronary angiogram.
georgegeorgia Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Coronary angiogram? What's the one where they put the tubes inside your arteries to check , apparently that can have side effects
degrub Posted October 8 Posted October 8 (edited) If you get a stress test, either treadmill or nuclear, and there is indication of heart issues, particularly artery blockage, a coronary angiography with catheterization gives them the ability to treat blockages found with angioplasty with or without installing stents.. otherwise, if you don’t set up the catheterization, you get to do it again doubling the amount of radiation received. And since it is done with only good pain meds, you can watch the whole thing on wide screen tv. Edited October 8 by degrub
Hermes Live Posted October 8 Posted October 8 The only solution is a visit to your cardiologist and be quick about it. 1
georgegeorgia Posted October 8 Posted October 8 So please someone tell me the steps to take to get checked I have had a Echocardiography, it found "trivial" pericarditis What's the next step ,what is a CT Calcium score check ? Should I get that next or go and ask for a treadmill test?

degrub Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Go see a cardiologist! tell him/her everything. Ask @Sheryl for a recommendation if you don’t already know someone nearby. triple bypass survivor

3NUMBAS Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Get It from hospital or doctor ,just spray under your tongue when needed 1
Sheryl Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Has a cardiologist diagnosed uour psin as agina? If do, what is the undetlying cause and have spptopriate interventions (e.g. dtents) been considered? Angina cannot be self diagnosed. Pain ftom gastritis among other things can be indistinguishable; even a doctor may confuse the two initially. It is not common in this day and age to treat angina with nitrates since there has been so much progress in interventions that correct the underlying cause as wrll as other meficatikn regimines (aspirin, anicoagulants, beta blockers etc) . There is no substitute for seeing a cardioliogist.
