While the U.S. presence was officially framed as peacekeeping, many Lebanese viewed it as an occupation, especially given the military actions and the broader geopolitical implications.

Hezbollah did receive some support from Iran and has Shia ideology, but its origins were  a response to the perceived failures of the Lebanese state and the ongoing violence from various factions, including Israel’s invasions.

It's primary purpose is most certainly not to destroy Israel. It is a defender of Lebanon and the Shia community.

This is blatant misinformation. Hezbollah is a proxy for Iran and has very little support from large swaths of the Lebanese population. You seem to be in favour of a country hundreds of miles away arming and supporting a particular religious group to destabilize and overthrow the democracy they're within in order to wage geo-political war against their enemy who are also hundreds of miles away.

What makes you think I am in favour of Hezbollah?

Simply stating facts.

Hezbollah is an ally of Iran, not a proxy. Did you listen to the message from Iran's leader recently?

They share ideological and political goals, particularly regarding occupation of Lebanon by Western colonial nations. Iran provides financial  assistance to Hezbollah because of the mess the country is in due to military bombardment by Israel in the 2006 war and the 1982 invasion., the extensive damage to infrastructure. You may have noticed a pattern with the IDF, take a look at the destruction in Gaza. it would take Gaza many many years to recover, even if Israel allowed cement to get into the country.

More misinformation spreading by you, of course Hezbollah is an Iran proxy! You are certainly NOT stating facts. You are doing your best to hide them.
