Multi-Vehicle Collision on Rama 2 Road Claims Life of 10 Year Old Girl

A fatal incident involving multiple vehicles occurred on Rama 2 Road, inbound towards Bangkok, near the Phanthai Chili Paste factory in Muang District, Samut Sakhon. The crash involved two 10-wheeler trucks and a pickup truck.

 

The crash which occurred at 18.50 on October 17, resulted in the death of a 10 year old girl, who was a passenger in the pickup. Three other people were injured, including the driver of one of the trucks and the pickup driver, plus a passenger in one of the trucks, an 8 year old boy. Rescue teams from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation and emergency personnel worked quickly at the scene, extricating the victims from the wreckage.

 

 


According to initial reports, the pickup travelling at speed and attempting to weave through traffic and undertaking, collided with the back of the truck causing a chain reaction with the truck dragging the pickup and slamming into the second 10-wheeler. 

 

Emergency services rushed to the scene to assist the injured, who were trapped inside their vehicles. The injured drivers and the 8 year old boy were transported to Mahachai Hospital for treatment, while the young girl’s body was taken to Samut Sakhon Hospital.

 

Police investigations are ongoing.

Excellent driving skills on display!

I travel the Cha Am--BKK nightmare regularly....drivers like this lunatic, are everywhere...and it's almost always pick-up delivery vehicles....exactly the same as this example.

Just normal Thai driving, and with a child on board. Go anywhere on any highway this is how they drive. RIP young girl.

Not helpful.....just shows how you haven't acclimatised ti driving in Thailand..

The number of deaths in 4 wheeled vehicles per 200k is about the same or slightly less than in the US..
